Engine Swap Page
All I have left to do is make a power steering line. Some of my info may be helpful to others so I will include it here and now.

Some basic swap ideas: use 3rd gen motor mounts on the LT1. If you plan on keeping the AC the frame needs to be notched. I did this but it is turning out to be a PITA. I chose to use a 4th gen radiator though some have used there stock unit. I also chose to use a 4th gen fan set up as well. As for the headers I am running SLP headers for a L98 . They match up perfectly but be aware if you use these a second O2 sensor bung is needed. Once I am finished with the wiring I will post it here. As for where to get a motor I got mine from a junk yard for $990. This was for a complete engine with all accesories and computer. My motor is from a 93 Z28. This motor has a PROM unlike the newer style which has a soldered in chip. As far as the tranny is concerned I am running the stock 1990 700-R4 from my car. I am having a few wiring issues with this, but will have them figured out shortly. As far as the air intake goes I made my own out of 3" pipe with a K&N on the end. If you have any questions feel free to drop me an email [email protected].
Well my car has been started up. And boy does it sound healthy. This is by far worth all the time and money spent up until this point. I still need a power steering line but that will be made up this week. As far as the AC is concerned I will wait until winter to get it working properly. Other that cleaning up some of the wiring I am done. :)
