Completely Incomplete

by Joe Ossenmacher-Bedford

Her mountains are majestic,
Tall, proud and true.
Her rivers are a mystery,
Winding, veiled from view.

Set on fire by her stars,
Warm and glowing embers.
Her sun always shines on me,
Even in December.

I long to know her secrets,
Dying every second.
Secrets aren't for finding out,
Just as I had reckoned.

Nothing lasts forever,
Ain't no good complaining.
She will drag you down the hall,
A'kicking and a'flailing.

Watch the sun set in the west,
Black banner unfurled,
Watch the morning born again,
Halfway 'round the world.
