Bob Zimmerman, my Grandpa. Here are a few quick facts:
Born January 23rd, 1922 in Springfield, OH.
Enlisted in the US Army "Air Corps"
Served as a radio operator on a B-17 during WWII.
Ran many successful businesses
Always drove a nice car.
Loved his family.
Was a terrible golfer, but loved to golf.
Passed away Christmas Eve, 2001.
Is succeeded by 2 daughters, 4 grandkids, and 6 great grandchildren.
Here is a picture of Bob with his daughters and 3 grandkids, down at the "Riverhouse".
From left to right are me, Cheri, Bob, Pati, Becky and Rob. The year is about 1991 as far as I can tell.
Below are some pictues of Bob's younger days.
The year 1942 was a good picture-taking year for Bob...
In the trenches...
Here is Bob with one of his many lady friends. Gramps really loved his women. >
Yep, the Zimmerman good looks transcend time itself.
One more of the man in uniform. Interestingly enough, he went in wearing a green uniform, and came out wearing a blue one (Army Air Corps became the Air Force for those who don't know their US History).
Moving forward in time, here are some color pics...
Here is Grandpa wearing his favorite kind of hat. So yeah, he was somewhat "old school".
I am not sure what year this was taken, but if I had to wager a guess, I would say early-mid 1980's.
