Joe's Arsenal: A Work in Progress
Welcome to my Arsenal page.  My modest collection of arms. I have tried to categorize the pages by type of firearm. I also am including guns Iowned in the past, and those that I plan to add to the collection.
This Rossi .44 Special was another early purchase. It was a great buy, proving to be durable and pleasant to shoot. While still part of the collection, it now sits in the safe.
This Bersa Thunder .380 was our very first handgun aquisition. It's a fine handgun for the money.
No collection should be without a Smith & Wesson wheelie. This is a Model 19 which is their lighter framed .357 Magnum. I got it heavily used. It's a fixer-upper.
Below is the nicest handgun in my collection so far:
It is a
Springfield Armory 1911 A1 G.I. 45 (.45 ACP)
The model 1911 was designed by perhaps the greatest gunmaker in history: the legendary John Moses Browning.  After nearly a century in existence, the 1911 remains the single most popular handgun in the shooting world.  It combines power, accuracy, and reliability, not to mention style and grace.
Here is my 2nd magazine of the day; not bad landing 6 of 7 head shots.  Certainly there is room for improvement.
The silhouette below is one full mag from my 1911.  It was my first 7 shots of the day.
The most practical addition to my collection was this Glock 23 chambered in .40 S&W with a 13-shot magazine.
This compact size is perfect for a CCW. Being a 9mm gives it a generous 10-round capacity which is pretty good for a carry gun.
A more recent  acquisition was the Springfield Armory XD-40 Sub-compact. I had been wanting one of these for a long time.  It's a lot like a Glock, but offered just a little bit more features in the sub-compact variation.
The SW99OL is basically a copy of the  Walther and offers many great features.
-Ambidextrous magazine release located on the trigger guard (a la HK)
-Two stage trigger
-Decocker button flush on the top of the slide
-Adjustable rear sight for windage, changeable front sight for elevation.
-Changeable backstrap to adjust for grip size.
The Smith & Wesson SW99OL and the Kel-Tec P3-AT were a combo deal that was too sweet to pass up. Both are great carry guns and have been extremely durable and reliable.
A more recent acquisition was this next generation Kel-Tec P3-AT. This is an American made pocket gun in .380 (also known as 9mm short).
Above  is one of my better 6-round groupings of the day with the P3AT at 4 yards. I forgot my camera, so this one was taken using my phone. Photoshop did the rest. No FTFs or FTEs in 50 rounds
Early on, I experienced 4 FTEs, and 1 FTF.  These problems did work themselves out as the gun continued its break-in period. My last 2 trips to the range saw the gun perform flawlessly.  Pictured above was my last 10-round mag of the day from 7 yards.  Could be better.
This is my Smith & Wesson 22A target pistol. She's not much to look at, but highly accurate.  The 10-round group on the right was shot at 12 yards.  My only complaint is that there is a spot of finish wear on the muzzle where the bare metal is exposed.  All in all, Smith & Wesson is becoming one of my favorite brands of handguns.
