Good tidings to all...

It's Christmas time again and Cari and I are looking forward to enjoying this season with our families.  Mom Zawodny and Dan will be joining the Boltz's at  Big Lake for merriment and gift-giving this Christmas; hopefully this will be the beginning of a new tradition for the families.  There is a plethora of gifts under the tree, so this promises to be a great Christmas indeed!

As you who recieved a Holiday card know, Cari and I are expecting a new member to the family soon.  The expected date should fall sometime towards the end of April.  The doctors are saying April 27th, and we're inclined to believe them as they specialize in such matters.  Yes, next year you will be reading this letter and learning about all of the strange and wonderful things our child is up to.  As for this year, Cari and I have been quite busy with work and play and everything in between.

Cari's brother, Nate, and his fiance, Leah, were married September 27th in Yellowstone, Montana.  We had a great time there with both our family and Leah's.  It was nice to meet more of Cari's family, and to get to know Leah's family better.  Everything went off without a hitch, and Cari and I were thankful that we were able to make it down to participate in the event.

I am still teaching 8th grade Language Arts at Goldenview Middle School in Anchorage.  They tried to fire me in June with about 130 other teachers, but they realized their loss and quickly rescinded their decision.  My teaching is much more effecive this year, now that I'm closer to knowing what I'm doing.  The kids are all fun and we get along quite well; I'm not sure what it is, but I have a lot in common with 13 year olds.  Cari says it's my maturity level and attention span.  She may be right.

Cari continues to run a tight ship at Anchorage's Promise.  She is busy working on funding for her organization and for some advertizing they want to put on television.  The city of Anchorage, and more specifically the youth of Anchorage, are lucky to have such a devoted, thoughtful person looking out for their well-being.  And, thanks to all of her hard work this last year, Cari will be able to take a couple of months off after the pregnancy.

Cari and I feel blessed to have such a loving family, great friends, and a baby on the way.  We would like to thank you all for keeping us in your thoughts this year.  We have enjoyed speaking to you all throughout the year and we look forward to keeping in touch during the coming months.  We wish you happiness and health during this holiday season and beyond.

We would love to hear from you anytime!  All of our contact info is on the
contact us page.  You can also leave a message in our guestbook for a quick update.  For more information about the family, check out www.boltzfamily.net - We miss you and hope everything is going wonderfully!  Take Care.

Love,

Joe and Cari
