Hello funnel watch fans i have started the new and improved funnel watch. Whats funnel watch you say? This is a club that carefully examines the complexity of storms and funnels within a storms inner structure. Whether its a week thunderstorm or a severe thunderstorm, funnel watchers are always on the move carefully watching. Our research can save people and make warnings that are much more accurate. But ffor right now its all about having fun!  Funnel clouds can occur everywhere! So, watch in the sky during the evening hours for them. There called Cold air funnle clouds which form from cool air rising when it is cooled off, this causes a spinning mesocyclone to extend from the cloud. Heres who joined the club: Steven, Kyle Hoggins. And my mom, Anette callihoo.

Me the webmaster, and the master of storm chasing.
A landspout, another deady twister sister is produced exactly like a water spout, temperature shifts on the land caused by rising hot air in a weak thunderstorm, that spirals upward in such force, it can cause f3 damage!
This is how many people went to my site since may 31st/04
Heres some pictures of mamatas, pockets of warm air that rised and cool rapidly. This is from a severe thunderstorm on my birthday! July 17th/03 What a nice present!
Stay tuned for a harry potter fan page fit for Jk rowling! storm log: July 2nd 2004,. They broadcasted thunderstorms all week, and finally There was one. This thunderstorm had intense lightning and everything, complete with thunder and funnel clouds. There is a risk of a thunderstorm and a severe thunderstorm watch was put into place. At around 8:10. Thunderstorms are moving into the area. Another thunderstorm twice as intense plowed through edmonton with half the speed a regular thunderstorm has. This thunderstorm had the most brightest and most intense lightning i have seen this year. It lasted three hours!9:00 - 12:00. Amounts of rain:50mm. July the 5th, Today at 10:19, a severe thunder storm watch is issued,Strong thunderstorms bring the threat of heavy rain, hail, damaging winds. I'll give u an update if any thunderstorms are spotted. At around 2:00, a thunderstorm, with a little lightning and heavy rains in the north, hit edmonton, dumping another 20-30 mm!!. Another thunderstorm is heading towards edmonton, and is expected to enter in three hours. Friday july 8th/04, The conditions were favorable for the developement of cold air funnel clouds formed by the cold air aloft that is rising due to the upper level low . A tornado watch was issued all day from 3:37-10:07, heavy rains and tall ominous cumulus clouds were seen, and funnel clouds and no tornadoes touched down. This was the perfect day to study the development of these funnel clouds. July 11th/o4, A strong severe thunderstorms flooded edmonton streets today, for the third time this year!it dumped loonie sized hail, gusty winds and intense lightning, on the city. WOW it was awesome, better then any storms this year. we are currently under a severe thunderstorm watch, but there is no thunderstorms expected to hit edmonton, since all the thunderstorms are swirling around an upperlevel disturbance that spins counter clockwise. Amounts of rain:50mm. Fans, we have a very busy year for thunderstorms! Iam enjoying every bit of it! city of Edmonton-St Albert-Sherwood Park 7:10 PM MDT Sunday 11 July 2004 Severe thunderstorm watch for city of Edmonton-St Albert-Sherwood Park ended. A tornado hit morinville, minutes ago (at around 7:30)! a house was demolished and apeared with no warning at all. The thunderstorms died out to normal garden variety, and are moving in a counter clockwise movement. No thunderstorms are forecasted for tonight. July 17th/ 2004 Its my birthday everyone! A severe thunderstorm plowed through the edmonton region at around 11:13. A warning was put into place. This by far beats any thunderstorm this year, it was intense. This was the best thunderstorm and i don't think any thunderstorm could beat it. This thunderstorm wins the award for the loudest thunder award. This one was a rumbler! lightning bolts struck two blocks away sounding very similarly like gun shots. Hail was reported through the southeast part of the city. Unfortunetly i didn't get, nor see any. A severe thunderstorm watch is still in place, which means the potential development of severe thunderstorms with large hail and damaging winds and best of all intense lightning. That was the best birthday present EVER. This thunderstorm lasted a very fast 90 minutes, it was travelling at 35 km southeast, then shifted to east and another weak storm plowed through (garden variety). What a day for storm chasing! This was the best before and after the thunderstorm and its still rumbling! We had five thunderstorms yesterday, it wasn't just the one! Let me explain: there was a huge intense severe thunderstorm, one weaker storm after that, and one more line up behind it and another and another. It lasted from around 11:13 to 3:45, but was still rumbling. Five is better than one! So far we had 9 thunderstorms this year adn its just getting better. Sunday july 18th/04 10 thunderstorms this year now! how great! this thunderstorm lasted about an hour but died off really quickly, it made an intense light show, at 4:00 in the morning another thunderstorm (didn't pass though my area) was seen in the south heading an easterly direction. That was more intense than the severe thunderstorm on saturday and would easily beat it if it passed through my region. Otherwise the weather on july 21st was cool and breezy and no doubt almost wintery. On sunday july 25th, a thundershower passed through edmonton, No doubt it was the most weakest thundershower this year. July 29, 2004 10:01pm, thunderstorms developed in alberta and are expected fir tonight. I see a thunderhead, but it doens't show up on radar. at this moment the only thing that matters is my instincts now because radar means nothing. In fact a thunderstorm plowed through edmonton with such loud thunder that it set off a car alarm, twice. Radar actually depicts what did happen ten minutes ago, so if you see a thunderstorm headed your way and its close (on the radar) its already there. August 28th 2004 reporting for august 27th: Yesterday a thunderstorm and dark black clouds were seen, unfortunetly were to our southwest and diminished rapidy (due to the cold autumn night). What a sad sad day, today we have hope, thunderstorms are popping up very abruptly off the foothills and enviroment canada had to change the forecast again, for the third time. There is a 60 % chance for showers or thunderstoms (so it says). I beleive we may get something. But indeed they all died out before even reaching us. August 30th 2004, Its almost the beggining of another brilliant school year, were there are no thunderstorms and winter starts again. On september 21st, funnel watch will officially end. That is a sad sad day. There has been 13 thunderstorms or thundershowers this year, what a grand year, with two severe thunderstorms it has been awesome. Now it will be to cold for them to form. ISH September 1St what a grand way to start off the school year, a severe or intense thunderstorm has formed south west of edmonton and is headeded in a north east fashion, blooming rapidly this will be the best this year and just might be the finale to the end to this glorius thunderstorm year. Its to hard to predict what it has (hail or not) but one thing is certain, it has heavy rains. It soon died off an hour later, but thunderstorms are still iminent, i never thought thunderstorms would be likley at this point. Even though they were all around us they still missed us and passed right by edmonton, now we can safely say, this thunderstorm season is over. September 2nd/04 A tornado watch was put into place yesterday including much of central alberta but wasn't officially in edmonton. Funnel clouds were reported but none touched down. This Again was the perfect time to study funnel clouds. september 6 monday 2004, labour day weekend. Reporting for september 1st. On the first day of school my teacher mentioned two thunderstorms that i missed. On september 3rd and 2nd i missed a thunderstorm. So there ahas been 15 thunderstorms, three of them severe! Wow the greatest year. Its gradually coming to a close, fall is seting in and creating a rich blanket of cold shielding the thunderstorms and encouraging the snow. September 23rd 2004, Funnel watch is officially over, sadly to say, and its my worst nightmare, a sunny week. well with no further ado, funnel watch is over. October 23, halloween in 7 days. Why am i still posting you say? because i missed three thunderstorms when i was counting. My teacher told me she saw a thunderstorm on the night before the first day. August 30th, a thundershower, the second last thundershower went through. Also a severe thunderstomr plowed through ont he first day dumping a lot of hail, though the hail was pea sized it was the quantity that made it severe. THERE was a lot of hail, it looked rather like snow coating the ground. So there has bee actually 13 thunderstorms. heres the list: Thunderstorms of summer 2004 1.July 2nd, two thunderstorms 2. July 5th, one thunderstorm 3. July 11th, Severe thunderstorm 4. July 17th, One severe thunderstorm, four regular t-storms. Five thunderstorms. 5. july 18th intense thunderstorm 6.July 25th, thundershower. 7.July 29th, rumbler thunderstorm 8.August 29th aprox, light t-storm 9.September 3rd, severe t-storm *~FUNNEL WATCH HAS ENDED~*
