Welcome to Dreamcast Magic
Note: these pictures are in low resolution and the game looks much better on a TV.
Story: 10/10
During the 25th century, the planet earth is in a state of crisis.  An Alien race called Morolians have launched and invasion against earth and are using their mysterious brain washing rays guns to force people ... to dance!  The TV station "SC5" has sent their news reporter Ulala on the scene to grab the scoop.  As it turns out, it'll also be her mission to put an end to these crazy goings on.  Ulala's 22 years old and has been working for SC5 for 2 years now.  The capture of the other reporters covering the invasion has seen her promoted to the investigative reporting team.  This is a big chance to prove her reporting skills to the world.

Grapics: 9/10
The graphic design is screaming future-retro!  What's future-retro? Ever see Austin Powers? Remember their stylish flair everywhere?  Fuse that all together, and taking only the good, and occasionally odd, parts and there, you have the future-retro look.  The backgrounds run off of streaming video while the characters (our beloved Ulala and her entourage... if you are skilled enough to get one. *ahem*) aliens, and hostages are polygonal which is a big plus for graphics  The characters have high polygonal count and the skins on them look relistic and amazing.  The aim seems to be a cartoony with lighthearted appearance.  It succeeded in spades, very uplifting to watch.  Did I mention that the amination is smooth and there s never any slow downs plus the dancing looks so real!

Controls: 8/10
You need to have rythem to play this game still a very fun one at that, and this one has challenge to people who are having difficulty getting into the "rhythm" of things which is hard not too.  The controls are great and are easy to learn its more of a staying in beat that makes people mess up and can be vary hard for the musicly inclined.

Sound: 9/10
Music in this game is so catchy, catchy, catchy you just want to get up and dance along with it. Overall its delightfully catchy, well fitting, and of solid quality.  The music is the star of the show, as it should be in this game.  It's all here and it fits well.  But lets not forget that the voice acting in this game is great and is so relaxed and true to the game.

Game Play / Replay Value: 8/10
Either you do poorly and become moody because of your failing, or you do well and go ga-ga.  Its very fun!  This game will effect even the most disaffected.  Space Channel 5 boasts 78 unique characters to interact with throughout the game.  So you beat SC5 but what can you do?  If you beat the game once and play it again you play the same levels but goto different parts of the levels and its harder.  The game becomes harder by giving you less time to respond and more complex moves to repeat.  The graphics are great and the story is decent so there is a draw to keep you playing.

Overall: 8/10
Unless you are some cold, brooding, stick-in-the-mud you must get this game!  Honestly, if one game could bring in world peace, this is what it would be.
