| Welcome to Dreamcast Magic |
| Story: 10/10 It starts out basically as a gang war, as the different rollerblade gangs spraypaint cities, and the GGs (your gang) sprays over the other gangs paint. While many new character area added the story stays for the most part the same. Then it takes some major twists and turns, and becomes far more than a gang war. Saying anymore would take away from the game but it sure is good! Graphics: 10/10 The graphics are amazing! They're definitly not the most realistic, but that's a good thing! The characters, are are cell-shaded which makes them look cartoonish. Basically everything is cell-shaded-even the buildings! This game has some amazing graphics and it was the first game ever the have cell-shaded images so not only is it a great game but its a history making game too. The movie scenes after most levels are also nice, you scroll down a highly detailed comic type teller as you here the narrator tell the story. Sound: 10/10 Jet Grind Radio's also got some great sounds and music. The games music combines (japanese pop) music and American bands such as Rob Zombie, Jurassic 5, MixMaster Mike and Cold Which makes a interesting mix of music which fits the games feel or deing modern and rebelling against authority. The only people who really talk are Professor K, and Combo (unless u wanna count when everyone says yo and hey or other things like that) but they've got some good voices too. The game sounds are also good, and realistic. Controls: 10/10 The controls are easy to do basic things but as you learn how to do tricks and new moves it makes it harder so your as always learning new tricks. The game also has a thing where when you do a big jump, or escae from the cops, the game does an instant replay, whether you want it to or not which is cool. Painting graffiti itself is a process that varies in length, as the size of the tag (graffiti painting) that must be produced is split into three subdivisions small, large and extra large, each of which demand differing amounts of time and effort to complete. In anything other than the small size, youll have to follow the directions on-screen with the analogue pad to paint individual parts of the picture, with additional points awarded for a tag completed with no mistakes. For example, you might have to roll the analogue stick up, down and in a full circle, mimicking the movement of your characters spray-painting hand. Game Play / Replay Value: 9/10 The sheer originality of this title is bound to spark a hoard of copycat titles. As usual, Sega's the core innovator of the videogames industry. What you're required to do, is control your character, skating through treacherous towns, bustling streets, sewers, skyscrapers and the like, all the while sliding (correct term: 'grinding') off thin or edged objects. It's really cool! For instance, jump onto a stair rail, and watch in amazement as sparks fly off your smoking rollerblades! Not surprisingly, tricks can be performed, like 360 degree turns and super-jumps. Most importantly, you're given limited time to spraypaint certain locations, before the firing squad arrive! Cops of Tokyo-to are on the prowl, and you must tag as many areas as possible, all the while avoiding them. An original concept that deserves more than praise alone. Wow at the tricks. Smirk at the quirky design. Cheer at the coolness. Sega has broken barriers with this title. Dodging cops has never been so fun! This game has a great replay value, as there are many secrets, and a fairly long (and extremely challenging) one player mode. You will be playing this game months after you first beat it! Also you can download/upload of the net sprays, not to mention you can get off the net real photo's to use to use as your sprays too. Overall: 10/10 This is an awesome game with only a few slight problems, that can easily be overlooked. This game is well worth it, and may be the most fun you have in a long time.
