The Censer or Thurible
A new metal chafing dish or incense burner, preferably with small legs or a stand to raise its base off the tabletop to prevent scorching.

The process of consecration is simple.  Fill the censer or thurible with about an inch of sand.  This will provide good insulation from the heat of the burning charcoal.  When the moon is waxing, exorcise the thurible by taking some salt water in a bowl and steep in it the following powdered herbs: vervain, mint, basil, rosemary, hyssop, charcoal block and charge both fire and water.  Mentally putting all your efforct of will, faith, and imagination into seeing the elements as glowing vibrant , purifying light.  Having done this, sprinkle the thurible with water, then pass it through the incense smoke, chanting the following words.

"By water and fire I conjure thee
That there remain
with thy frame
no adverse thought or enmity
Hear my will!  Attend to me!
As my word, so mote it be!"

Then paint the proper runes representing the thurible around it, chanting the following words with each symbol and charging them with purifying light.  You may mix a little dragon's blood resin with your paint if you like, for added potency.

"Blessed be thou crature of fire!"

Paint your witch name around the base, repeating the letters and charging them as you do so, and finish the spell with the words "So mote it be!" This is your completed thurible.  With it you will henceforth perform all your fire exorcisms.
Now put your completed thurible away for future magical use.
