Life Story:It's kinda' long...
Well, I was hoping to get the staff list up and running before there had to be any changes, but sadly, it was not to be. On Tuesday, September 28, 1999, our favorite bunny, Fuzz D. Floppyear departed this world sometime in the early-mid afternoon. The purpose of this page is to inform our readers of the life, times, and all out cuteness of Fuzz.
Fuzz joined this family at only a few weeks of age, but made an immedeate impact on all of us. She arrived in a small cardboard box on April 13, 1993. For the first couple of months, she was small enough to fit in the palm of your hand, as was expected by a dwarf lop. The name Fuzz was chosen mainly because of her soft, excessive amount of fur, anyone who ever had the pleasure of touching her knows that what you see is about three times her actual body size. Small in size, but big on temper, Fuzz quickly let anyone who tried to pick her up know if she enjoyed the company or not...I still have marks left from some of the earlier scratches.
It was only a matter of time before she made her way out of that cardboard box (by chewing!) and was quickly moved into a more permenent home, a small wire cage that gave her enough room to run, jump and do other bunny things. It was during this time that she developed a great taste of carrots, clothing, and most viciosly, dandelions! We could never find enough weeds to fill that tiny stomach, even if she never completely ate her bunny food. To keep those pointy teeth from growing too large, Fuzz would find a nice chink of the back yard apple tree to gnaw the bark off of. In the span of a few years, she has completely de-barked that entire tree!
Now many people would think that getting a rabbit would be a bad idea considereing that there is a somewhat hyperactive dog living here, and in most cases they would be right. But when we first showed the bunny to Voot, she actually chased him! We brouhgt the him, with a tight hold on his collar, into the room where I was holding the bunny to introduce them. Well, being the friendly thing that he is, Voot causiosly stepped up to and sniffed this new thing that he was going to be spending lots of time with. At this point I, seeing that there was not going to be a voilent reaction from the dog (he bolts after any bird or squirrel that enters any yard in the neighborhood), let Fuzz onto the floor, where she took a single hop towards the dog. Not expecting this, poor ol' Voot jumped back and let out a short yelp of surprise! After that, they were like brother and sister.
A friend of everyone and inspiration to bunnies every where, she will be missed. We are currently NOT seeking a replacement!
All of these pictures can be found in the picture gallery, but I thought a little explaination might be helpful.
Fuzz in leaves. Occasionally, we would let her run around in the garden. Nice close up.
