Penguins sign Vujtek Jul 15, 2002 6:34 PM (EDT) PITTSBURGH (AP) - The Pittsburgh Penguins signed forward Vladimir Vujtek on Monday. The left wing from Ostrava, Czech Republic, played 45 games for HPK Hameenlinna, finishing third in the Finnish Elite League in scoring with 58 points. Vujtek has played 105 career NHL games with Montreal, Edmonton, Tampa Bay and Atlanta, recording 36 points and 38 penalty minutes. Vujtek played for Sparta Praha in the Czech Elite League from 1999-2001.
