      The Pens were announced that they will be opening up the 2000/2001 season in The superdome in Tokyo, Japan. They'll be facing the Nashville Preadators for two games in what is known as "GameOne".
The last time a pittsburgh franchise played a league game outside north america, was the Pittsburgh Steelers. They played the San Diego Chargers in the America Bowl in the Tokyo Dome in August of '98. The Steelers won that game 45-38.
