Penguins Sign Free Agents, Reach Terms With Draft Pick Tuesday August 14, 2001 1:08 PM PITTSBURGH (AP) - The Pittsburgh Penguins agreed to terms Tuesday with free-agent defenseman Peter Ratchuk and goaltender Robbie Tallas. Pittsburgh also came to terms with defenseman Brooks Orpik, drafted out of Boston College in the first round last year. Ratchuk was scoreless in eight games with Florida last season. He also played in 24 games with the Panthers in 1998-99. Tallas played in 12 games with Chicago last season, going 2-7 with a 3.35 goals-against average. He has played in 99 NHL games with Chicago and Boston, with a record of 28-42-10. Orpik had 20 points, all on assists, in 40 games with Boston College.
