Dark Lotus Bio

Dark Lotus is one of the wickedest projects ever created by Psychopathic Records. Dark Lotus was one of the most anticipated albums to be released. The story behind Dark Lotus is just as complicated as any other. Back in 1998 when Twiztid signed with Psychopathic Records, the word of a Dark Lotus group emerged. The group was Violent J, Shaggy 2 Dope, Monoxide Child, and Jamie Madrox. The devastating group was set to release the album "Tales From the Lotus Pod" in late 2000.

In 1999, Insane Clown Posse released the fifth Joker's Card, The Amazing Jeckel Brothers. Track sixteen was the introduction for Dark Lotus. The song was entitled "Echo Side" and it was Dark Lotus' first song that was released to the public. The next year, a single CD was pressed and released for a day locally in Detroit. This CD single was the same that debuted on the Amazing Jeckel Brothers album. The single was given out as a disk in clear coating. The disk itself was all black.

The word of Dark Lotus grew more and more and the line up fell more into play. There was expected to be six pedals (members) to the lotus. In 2000, Blaze was announced to be the fifth member. The sixth member was yet to be released. In late 2000 or early 2001, Blaze left Psychopathic due to certain complications. Esham the Unholy (who wasn't officially under the Hatchet yet) was suppose to be given a spot on Dark Lotus.

Later in 2001, Blaze was back under the hatchet. Esham then ended up being tossed from the Dark Lotus project. Some new tracks were created and a new face came onto the scene of Psychopathic. Anybody Killa who was found often with Blaze at the time was thought of to be the sixth and final pedal of the Lotus. No official word was given however to who was the sixth member.

In 2001, ICP kicked off their Bizzar Bizaar Tour with opening act, Marz. Once J met Marz and got along with him, J believed that Marz would fit perfectly in Dark Lotus. Right then and there, Marz was announced to be the sixth member of Dark Lotus. Marz was also speculated to become an artist under Psychopathic Records. This was a big surprise to the Juggalos because no one really knew who Marz was. Regardless, they released "Tales From the Lotus Pod" at the 2001 Gathering of the Juggalos, and Dark Lotus did its first live performance with Marz.

In 2002, Anybody Killa was officially signed to Psychopathic Records. It was at this time that there were complications about the Dark Lotus album. Marz's record label E-Magine Entertainment was threatening Psychopathic saying that they still had legal rights to Marz and wanted Psychopathic to pay them for Marz being on Dark Lotus. Psychopathic Records thought about it for a second and then decided not to pay E-Magine. Marz then got the boot, and was no longer given the chance to be on Psychopathic. Marz also at this point in time was then realized not to be worthy enough to be on such a devastating project as Dark Lotus. So as the juggalos originally hoped, Anybody Killa was now officially named to take Marz's spot on the Lotus Pod.

The Revised "Tales from the Lotus Pod" took all of Marz's lyrics off of the album, and replaced a majority of them ABK. On one track on the revised version, Violent J says, "Hey yo Marz, You never was Lotus, and you notice, Biotch!" Marz became quite angry by how the entire situation ended as well as that one line from J, and made a song called "The Real Dark Lotus". The song was only released online as a free MP3 on Marz's website.
Psychopathic didn't feel that Marz was worth starting any argument with, so they just ignored him and let him go his own way dissing whomever he wanted to.

As of this day, Dark Lotus is still considered one of the best projects created by Psychopathic Records. The original version with Marz on it can be found with red writing, as well as red drawings. The Revised version with the Anybody Killa has yellow writing with yellow drawings. As of this very day Dark Lotus now consists of Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope of ICP, Jamie Madrox and The Monoxide Child from Twiztid, Blaze Ya Dead Homie, and Anybody Killa.
