!!~POP MUSIC~!!

Like most other teens, I love pop music. The first thing I do when I wake up in the morning is to fumble for my radio and switch it on, before I even open my eyes. Some people say boybands suck, but there are groups such as N'Sync, Westlife and the Backstreet Boys which I think are erm... pretty good. I love R&B's like Shanice Wilson and Destiny's Child. M2M are really sweet too, cos their songs are rather mild n soothing.

My all-time favourite band is the Backstreet Boys. I bought their first album back in 1996, when there was a rumour going on that one of them had been killed in an accident and two of them seriously injured. (Stupid rumour!! Wasn't true at all) I hardly knew the boys back then.

Anyway, I got the tape, played some of the songs and thought, "Pretty good!" It was actually my first pop album. Then I saw the video clip for 'Get Down' on telly, and got the idea to invent some dance steps. Together with a few friends, we cooked up quite a few dance routines using BSB songs, starting with 'Get Down' which we performed during the Scouts' Camp camp-fire and was a huge success. We did other dances, but continued to stick with that particular song and practised it everyday. Even our teachers thought it was good, and asked us to perform at SRB Chung Hua Miri during the Interschool Story-Telling competition. We practised hard every day (it was good excercise too), but under one of the teachers, who modified a lot of our dance steps according to her own preferences, and we didn't feel comfortable doing them. On the big day, one of our team members din't turn up, so the dance turned out artificial (un-original) and was not good at all.

Linkin Park rawk!! One good thing about their songs- all of 'em are parent-friendly. Eminem and Limp Bizkit are not bad either.. just gotta mind the language tho'. I kinda like playing the numbers ("Rollin' rollin'..." etc.) when I feel restless or mad, like, when I feel like doing sit-ups or punching something.
