Next morning, we all woke up at 10am. It was a very good night's sleep. We packed our stuff into our bags and the next thing we knew, we were getting ready for a picnic! First, we stopped at Surrender Park. We took pictures of each other doing all sorts of silly poses. It was a beautiful place and we had a lot of fun.
Then we went on to another beach and had our picnic there. We walked on the shore, keeping a lookout for nice shells and coral pieces. I kept trying to get some perfect shots of the others and did manage to get some pretty good ones.
After our little walk, we went up to join May’s parents. They were talking to some friends there and a little girl caught our attention. Later, I learned that her name was Hsei Ann, and it was not long before she got attached to us. She looked really adorable wearing Ilissa's hat. We followed her to look for 'bellflowers',  a kind of flower which looks like bell and has a seed or something hanging in the middle. When you shake it, there’s a kind of “tok tok” sound. Unfortunately we found only one on the ground. Liss suggested to Shei Ann to take the seeds and plant it in the ground and it would someday become a tree, and that's what she did.
“Liss, Ann looks so much like you lah,” I commented.
“Yea, she's my daughter,” she joked back.
“Who is the father?” asked Christine.
“Aaron loh..who else?” I answered at once. “Aaron must have some kind of super sperm which can make Ilissa give birth in a day and the baby grow up to 5 year old in the 2nd day.” I never seem to tire of sebuting "Aaron, Aaron" all the time.
Shei Ann pretended to dig for gold in the sand, and insisted I was to be her assistant, so we took turns digging. The other girls relaxed in a shelter nearby. Finally I decided to take a rest. Seeing Ilissa lying on the concrete bench, I decided to call Aaron. I took out my phone, dialed his number and walked towards the girls.
    “Hello…can I speak to Aaron?”
Ilissa opened her eyes at once. I knew she wouldn't believe I really called. Aaron sounded a bit tired of all the pranks, so I passed Liss my phone and her eyes became as wide as fifty-cent coins.
At 4pm, we left the beach. Liss n Chris followed Uncle's car, while me and Kerr Li followed Auntie. Hsei Ann came with us. In the car, Hsei Ann and I played a sort of 'guessing game'. She put her hands behind her back, told me to close my eyes and put an old cockle-shell in one of them; I was supposed to guess in which hand the shell was.
"After twenty times, you tell me ok, then your turn."
    "Okay..."
"Uh-oh, now how many times already?"
    "I don't know, twenty?"
    "Okay, your turn."
Kerr Li tried to join in, but Ann didn't want another player. So my game with Hsei Ann went on, until Auntie told her, "Ann, Jody che-che want to look at Labuan first, why don't you play later?"
"Okay... when you finish see Labuan, then we play again okay? When you go back to Miri, don't forget to write to me okay? When you come to Labuan again, don't forget to come and see me okay? Chinese New Year okay? I ask my daddy to give you all big-big ang-pau. Remember to send me my photo okay? Give to May then she pass to me. Don't forget okay?"
"Okay, okay, okay..." I smiled. Cripes, she was so damn cute!
Suddenly this little angel started belting out Westlife's new song, along with the car radio.
"Ann, you know who sing this song?" asked Auntie.
"My Love, Westlife..." she replied at once. My jaws dropped.
We arrived at the Bird Park, which was a neat and really lovely place. I spent my last two snaps on a green budgie and regretted not bringing more film as we walked thru' cages with dozens of exotic birds, too beautiful to be true. There was even a tame, pinkish-golden cockatoo which we took turns stroking! We left approximately half an hour later.
We went back to May's place, quickly gathered our stuff and said goodbye to Uncle. We arrived at the Labuan airport and checked in at 5:15pm. Our flight was at 5:55pm.
"Jody, you sit with Kerr Li-ah," Liss told me. We took our  time browsing thru' the airport store. Ahh, Hershey chocs! My sis would love those. I grabbed a packet and also a bottle of nail colour. Hsei Ann was beside me again.
"You like to colour your nails-ah? Your mummy don't scold you meh?"
"Hsei Ann, you are so talkative," said Auntie and smiled at me.
We finally approached the departure hall at 5:45. Ann held out her arms, and I gave her a tight hud and a big kiss. I could feel my tears coming out but I quickly blinked them away. Boy, am I gonna miss that kid. May and Auntie passed hugs around too, and we thanked them for the wonderful stay. As we disappeared into the departure room, I caught one last glimpse of Hsei Ann waving.

The departure hall was practically empty.
"Wah so good, our flight must have a lot of empty space." I prepared to put down my bags, pleased to see some more chocolate stalls around. The others were about to do the same.
"Boarding..." a man called to me, waving towards the gate. I squinted at him. 'Boarding'? Such a familiar word. For some reason, my mind was blurry.
"Miri, BOARDING!!" As if all of us had suddenly terkejut form our daydreams, we realized why the room was so empty! Picking up our bags, we stampeded thru' the corridor like a herd of elephants to Gate 1, and stepped into the plane panting. All the other passengers were already seated and buckled up, and they stared at us as if we were some kind of aliens from outer space. We heaved and shoved our bags into the ocmpartments above and flopped down onto our seats. Phew! The plane took off just a few minutes after that.
Time passed by so quickly I couldn’t believe we were already heading back to Miri. I started chomping again to beat the time and boredom. Upon arrival at Miri airport, I looked around for my car. No sign of QMB117 pun, so we sat down and waited.
We noticed a lot of foreign teenagers with tennis rackets. Must be for an international tournament held in Miri. We stared, gawked, ooh-ed and aah-ed at them.
"Wah, the Indian one so handsome!"
"Yaloh, yaloh... You see, so tall-lah the English one!"
"Psst! Hey I overheard those girls calling him. His name is Michael!"
    "That guy looks like Philippino..."
"I still like the Indian one."
My car arrived 20 minutes late, and we left the airport. Sigh... I wish we could go back to Friday and start this trip again... Overall, it has been a short but immensely enjoyable trip, and I'm sure we'll all have wonderful memories of it.
