Diomira George
I remember when I first saw her in
Form 1, I thought, "Wow, this girl is powerful!" And powerful she is, scoring
gold medals in the shotput event.
I was in Form 2 when I really got
to know her. Somehow, we were sitting together, and I soon found out she
speaks good English. Because of that, it was easier to talk to her (My
Malay is not too good). In fact, we communicated so much that when we can't
talk during lassons, we scribbled notes to each other. Our notes ammounted
to about 4 full excercise books!
Although Dyom comes from a needy family,
she works very hard at school. We often borrow each other's stuff (cassettes,
notebooks etc.) I lent her quite a lot of my stuff, and most of the time
she returns them in perfect condition. But there was one time when she
lost two of my rechargeable batteries I use for my r/c car, and I lost
my temper. I shouldn't have. We didn't speak to each other for quite some
time after that explosion, and I'm glad it didn't happen again since.
