There was a moment in time when the pressures of life
tried to follow my steps through the day.
So I cried for encouragement from my King and my Lord
through the tears I would speak when I prayed.
While still on my knees came a Voice through the breeze
saying Child, find your strength within Me.
Please set your mind on My sovereignty this hour
and not on the things that you see.
Then, I heard a song dancing all around my head
as if angels had entered the room.
Words of His righteousness & holiness were echoed
back and forth through the glorious tune.
His promises from the Word came flooding toward me
as if carried on the forces of wind.
And I recounted the blessings of a God who never leaves
and who loves me all over again.
Then I joined in the chorus of the angels around me
and praised God for His unfailing grace,
For a love that can strengthen me and water my spirit
no matter the time or the place.
Then I lifted my eyes to the heights of the heavens
to the One to whom my soul belongs.
I blessed Him and sang back the words that He taught me
through the beauty of sovereignty's song.
He lays the beams of His upper chambers in the waters,
Who makes the clouds His chariot,
Who walks on the wings of the wind,
Who makes His angels spirits,
His ministers a flame of fire.
