| The two witches exchanged a look. "We have to gather supplies," said Tara. "There's no time for that," said Willow. "We'll just have to wing it." "You said you love me," said Anya. She rested on Giles' chest, and he brushed his hand up and down her arm. "I did," said Giles. "I do. I've loved you for so long, and it feels so good to be with you." He paused. "I know I shouldn't say these things. I should be satisfied just to have you now, in this moment." "I care about you, too," she replied. "You make me feel smart. You make me feel good about myself. You make me feel cherished." "You deserve all that and more, Anya," he said earnestly. "You deserve everything that is good and right that the world has to offer." "In your arms, I feel happy. I wish it could last forever," she said sadly. "Let me make it last forever," he said. "Nothing lasts forever," said Drusilla angrily. "Love is an illusion." "Love is eternal," said Aurelius, "but hearts can change." His eyes were fixed on Dawn. "I'm all alone," said Drusilla in misery. "There is no one left for me." "What the fuck are you doing here, Peaches?" said Spike angrily. He looked over his shoulder and shut the door. "I can't believe that Buffy invited you to our wedding!" He threw up his hands and began to pace. "Bloody terrific! What's next, soldier boy going to pop in? Or that college twit she shagged that blew her off?" He laughed wildly. "Spike," interrupted Cordelia. He did a double take. "Wonderful! Xander's ex! Hate the hairdo, by the way." He continued to rant. "Now all we need is Dogboy and Drusilla, and the roll call will be complete." Xander and Tara stared at the woman that sat in the middle of the bed. Wide, slanted green eyes peered out of a perfect heart shaped face. Luxurious blonde hair cascaded over her breasts and fell to her waist. "I'm Lorelei," she said in a melodic voice. "Let's do it," said Willow firmly. Xander helped up his wife and Tara led Lorelei by the hand. They all ran out of the suite and down the corridor. They turned the corner, and saw Spike, Cordy and Angel. "What's all this?" asked Spike. The elevator doors opened. A maid rolled out a housekeeping cart. The Scoobies and the blonde girl rushed into the elevator. "Got to run," said Cordelia. She grabbed Angel and pulled him in. The doors closed in Spike's face. "Can't wait to find out what that was all about," he said. The door to his suite opened. "Be right there love," he called, as he went to tend to his fiance. "Are you sure about this?" asked Anya. They stood in front of a tall office building. "I have never been more certain of anything," he said with a smile. "I'm greedy, and needy, and weird," she said solemnly. "And I'm boring, and old, and unemployed," he said. They looked at each other for a moment and then kissed. She slipped her hand in his and they went inside. "Please give her to me," said Aurelius. His voice was firm, but his eyes were desperate. "Let me keep her," said Drusilla. "She is my future. She is my happiness." "Drusilla," sang a melodic voice. The vampire turned her head. "Drusilla, come to me." Captivated, she dropped her burden and walked away. Aurelius took the girl into his arms. "My sweet Dawn," he said passionately. |
