| "The costume room is right through here," said the clerk as he led the way. "The chaplain will be ready for you in fifteen minutes." Giles ran down the hallway towards the elevator. He turned the corner and smacked into Spike. The men looked at each other. Spike had an open shirt thrown over his bare chest and the top button on his jeans was undone. The other man's hair was extremely mussed and he had lost the top three buttons on his shirt. "Spike!" said Giles. "What are you doing here?" Spike pointed behind him. "Honeymoon suite, remember?" "Oh, right," replied Giles. "What are you doing here?" asked Spike curiously, as he walked over to the elevator panel and pushed the down button. "Got lost," explained the older man. "You got lost and happened to wander up to the penthouse? I'm not buying it." The blonde grinned. Giles ignored him. He gave him the once-over. "Someone's been shagging," he said in a singsong voice as the elevator opened. "Please do shut up," said Giles irritably. The vampire laughed. "I'm just messing with you, watcher. I saw you and Anya humping against the wall earlier. Don't blame me if you're not keeping a low profile. I can't imagine Xander will be too pleased when he finds you out, though." Xander and Willow stood on a patch of Astroturf. The wall in front of them was painted with the majestic white columns of a southern mansion. They were decked out as Rhett and Scarlett. Xander looked dashing in the gray, tight lines of his suit. Willow drowned in white, fluffy ruffles, and a large floppy hat kept falling into her eyes. She struggled to fix it and hold a large bouquet of white silk roses. They faced each other before a minister dressed in a Confederate uniform, complete with a sword at his side. "Do you, Willow, take Alexander to be your lawfully wedded husband, to love and cherish as long as you both shall live?" asked the minister. "I do," she said seriously. "Do you, Alexander, take Willow to be your lawfully wedded wife, to love and cherish as long as you both shall live?" "I do," he said, his eyes bright. "The rings, please," said the minister. Xander pulled out a small circle of diamonds from his pocket. "With this ring, I thee wed," he said as he slipped it on Willow's finger. She pulled a thin gold band from her thumb. "With this ring, I thee wed," she said as she placed it on his ring finger. "By the power vested in me by Clark County and the State of Nevada, I pronounce you man and wife, "proclaimed the chaplain. Xander swept Willow into his arms, and dipped her into a passionate kiss. Her big hat fell to the ground. The minister smiled at them as the organist launched into a rousing version of "Dixie." |
