| Introduction Jody Ettema | ||||||||
| Nice to meet you! I am one of your hosts on this homepage. My name is Jody Ettema and at this point 26 years of age. Let me give a short introduction about myself and my interests. Please forgive me if my english is not as good as it should be. I will start at the point from which my interest for wildlife became an important part of my lifestyle as it is today. From the age of 10 yeras old, I have been interested in different species of flora and fauna. By angling and wandering around in a variety of landscapes the interest for wildlife grew. It was not until the age of 15, that I was becoming more interested for wildlife in its whole context. By collecting skulls and catching different species of animals, the use of new techniques for photographing became more important. As I bought my first camera, the possibilities for collecting photos expanded and it became evident, that there was less need for collecting flora and fauna. Next to our local wildlife, the passion for more exotic species grew stronger. This fascination made me bring home my first Madagascar giant daygecko. Photographing exotic species is a very nice addition, next to my passion for photographing wildlife. I have finished my bachelors degree Wildlife Management in 2003 at the Van Hall Institute for environmental sciences. The combination of wildlifemanagement and dedication for wildlife has made look for others, who share my passion for nature. Others have motivated me to become more involved with fieldwork and photography. I hope that the biodiversity will motivate you to participate in future lifetime. Enjoy yourself! Jody Ettema |
