| ...After a late afternoon of meandering through the towns shops, and a pre-dinner coffee, Martin and Jody embarked on their celebratory, candle-lit dinner at the Julian Grille. After dinner, and during dessert Martin fell down to one knee and proposed (while having apple-boysenberry pie) to Jody, where for the first time in her life...she was for the most part speechless, but managed to make out the word "yes." The evening marked the five-year anniversary of their first date. (Pictures of the lovely weekend in Julian will be posted as soon as they are available.) About Julian Nestled in the San Diego mountains, Julian is known for their beautiful fall foliage, but most of all for their apples. Apple pie, apple cider, apple magnets, apple potpourri, apple butter, apple honey, apple t-shirts, and apple candles are just a few of their offerings. Everyone should go to Julian during the fall to view the foliage, breathe the cool crisp air that's spiced with the aromas of pies cooking and chimneys smoking. It's spectacular. Another great find in Julian are the locals. The down-to-earth residents of Julian are, to say the least, incredibly freindly and welcoming. It isn't surprising either to find that many Julian-ites have transplanted themselves there from the Los Angeles metro area--to escape the rat-race and live a simpler, more peaceful life.
