Run the
RACE!
I want to welcome those who are excited about running, those who want to get excited about it, and those who are willing to make a change in their lives.

Have you wanted to start an exercise program but you are a little intimidated?  Or how about the classic "I'll start tomorrow"?  I want to encourage you that you can begin that healthy lifestyle, and I will see you through the transition of becoming a runner.

My love for exercise began when I was five years old.  I played recreational, competitive, and high school soccer.  Once I moved on to college, I was exercising at a local fitness center.  I missed my step aerobics class one day, and instead of going home, I hit the treadmill.  After 30 minutes of a great workout, I realized that I could do more work in half the time than the class!  My love for running began that day.

Since that time, I trained for a half-marathon on my own.  I was encouraged through the words of other runners around me, and I finished the Las Vegas Half-Marathon in 1:59:59.  I decided at that time that I wanted to run a marathon by my next birthday.

I received a mailer from the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Team in Training program.  I went to their informational meeting and began training for a full marathon.  I finished the Valley of the Sun Marathon in honor of my uncle, Marty Lierly, with a time of 5:00:00.

Since I realized that I loved exercising and healthy living, I began to study exercise science through Arizona State University.  I graduated with my B.S. Degree in Exercise and Wellness in May 2002.

As I was considering my career options, I designed this idea to create running programs for people and encourage them along their journey.  From plenty of personal experience, I know that there are many people who enjoy running in their neighborhoods, but they do not have access to "personal trainers."  I want to reach out to this unique group and offer my knowledge, experience, and passion for people's health.

I am in the process of researching what is required to begin an online service like this.  Please send me an email if you would be interested in either a beginning running program or a program to help you move to the next level.

Continue to view this site as I expand on my ideas and love for running.
