Appeared at a noontime Rally held for him at Westlake Park in downtown
Seattle, where Mayor Greg Nickels, honored him with a proclaimation
making Friday, 3/15/02 "Apolo Ohno Day" in Seattle.
King County Executive Ron Sims, also proclaimed the same
day "Apolo Ohno Day", in King County.
Apolo also was the Guest of Honor at the Seattle Supersonics
vs. the Washington Wizards game later that night - Friday, 3/15/02
It was his first Sonics game, (unfortunately, the Sonics lost).
While he was there, Apolo helped Sonics mascot "Squatch" give away free T-shirts to the fans,
by throwing them up into the stands.
(It was awfully fun to see him do that on the local telecast of the game).
