| Ryan Adams: Gold Release date: September 25, 2001 Lost Highway I don't even know where to begin. This record might just triumph over Pete Yorn and Travis combined. It's just too bad that people aren't picking up on the future of rock and roll. Ryan Adams is a hometown boy...born and raised in Jacksonville, NC, he moved to Raleigh at the tender age of 15 to do what he does best...sing, write, and perform. He formed a short-lived band called The Patty Duke Syndrome then the alt-country sensation Whiskeytown, who's long awaited Pneumonia was just released this year...after the breakup of the band. Ryan went on to record Heartbreaker on his own, a wonderful collection of acoustic melodies and alt-country ditties. Then, just a few weeks ago, Gold hit the shelves with much anticipation. Listening to this record is like listening to all the great bands you love, with a soothing, tender voice guiding you through. -LB |
