The meeting was chaired by Greg Fitzjames and opened at 6:25 pm.
President's report
Greg Fitzjames thanked everyone for attending the meeting and noted his disappointed at the amount of attendees.
Minutes from the AGM of 2003 were adopted. Moved G Zordan, Seconded G Fitzjames.
Secretary's report
Steve Kirk advised so far this year we have had one seeding error from Mascot in Round 7.
Apart from that, all going well.
Treasurer's report
Glen Zordan advised the balance of our account presently stands at $171.09
Expenses since last meeting were stationary and AGM drinks.
Glen was thanked for his assistance.
Champion of Champion's Day
Due to a "Piss Poor Effort" it was decided Steve Kirk will contact Coogee Randwick directly to organise the day.
Steve Kirk expressed that this year he believed the day should be seeded as has been requested by the players for quite some time. This was agreed to.
This year the draw will be made by the executive committee with 16 seeds as determined by them depending on which players actually enter the competition.
No correspondence will be entered into. Committee decisions on seedings will be final!
Entry fee will remain at $5. Prize money of $200 first, $100 runner-up $50 3rd and 4th
Sam Cushcieri asked why the Champion of Champions day was always held at Coogee? Could it not be held at Maroubra Seals? Sam was advised that the comp must be completed on one day and 5 tables would be required. Maroubra's 4 tables would not ensure the comp finishing within the time frame.
Steve Kirk advised that in the past the day was held around Saturday June 21st and he would request this day be set aside by Coogee Randwick for us.
Details of the day will be made next meeting when nomination sheets are handed in, after Steve Kirk has spoken to Coogee Randwick.
Team Payments
Maroubra Seals A, Maroubra Seals B and Mascot paid $80 team payments.
This leaves Bronte, Clovelly, Coogee Randwick A, Coogee Randwick B, Malabar, and Yarra Bay outstanding.
General Business
# Sam Cushcieri requested that team payments should be able to be made at the AGM when teams register. The exec committee could see no problem with this and will be able at the next AGM to accept team payments.
# Greg Fitzjames asked what is the story with markers this year? For example some clubs have them - others don't. Greg was advised it is up to the home team capt to provide markers if possible but sometimes suitable people cannot be found so it's better to do without rather than get an drunk idiot who can't add.
Team Captains are requested to make a bigger effort in supplying markers please.
# Due to the poor turn out of this meeting it was decided the next meeting will be held at MAROUBRA SEALS on Tuesday 10th June at 6:30pm. It is hoped that by moving to a more central location more teams might attend. This meeting will be accepting champion of champion nominations, team payments and Grand Final venue nominations - Please attend to have your say on it all.
