General Business

# Teams for this year are Bronte, Clovelly, Coogee Randwick A, Coogee Randwick B, Malabar, Maroubra Seals Blue, Maroubra Seals Red, Mascot, Matraville and Yarra Bay - 10 in total.
Glen Zordan was thanked for assisting in the joining of Matraville RSL.

# Competition will start Monday 25th Feb 2002

# Same rules as last year.

# Finals format will be the same as last year - Top 5.

# Yarra Bay and Mascot were asked to organise with visiting captains an early start due to the fact they only have 2 tables.

# Eddie Howden thanked Steve Kirk for the website that he maintains for results etc.

# Bob Barker asked about apparent seeding discrepancies where some teams were placing their best players in the lower positions and average players at number one/two. Bob was advised that the current rules allow this. As long as the seeding rule of "one slot down only" is stuck to, the committee are happy. Bob accepted the ruling.
Steve Kirk mentioned he had also thought of scrapping the seedings completely but didn't want to as they must have been put into play for a reason which is now not clear.
Bottom line is no changes to current rules

# Steve Kirk asked would it be ok to raise the nomination fees to $100 per team this year - This was met with contempt by the treasurer who advised we made over a hundred dollar last year. Fees to stay at $80

# Next meeting Wednesday May 1st 2002 at Clovelly 6 pm to discuss Champion or Champion details, Grand final nominations and team payments of $80 per team.

Meeting closed 6:20 pm
