President's report
Greg Fitzjames Reported that the competition was going well.
He also remarked that he was appalled at the low attendance of the meeting when so many critical issues were to be addressed this evening.
Minutes from the AGM of 2002 were adopted. Moved G Zordan Seconded G Fitzjames.

Secretary's report
Steve Kirk advised that since the comp began on 25th Feb Matraville had quit. This wasn't so bad as they never actually played a game and it was easy to turn their position in the draw to a weekly bye. Glen Zordan was requested to take more care when coercing teams in his immediate locally to join the Jock McLean Shield. Glen said he would take more care in future.
Steve also reported that this year he had only one seeding error - That being in Round 7 - Maroubra Seals Red. Greg Fitzjames asked "What's the matter with Maroubra - Can't they count?" This being in reference to last year's competition when the same person from Maroubra made another two seeding errors. G Zordan retorted that the Reds Capt was under a certain amount of pressure each week but he would have a word with the person to be more careful.

Treasurer's report
Glen Zordan advised the balance was $200, But he had monies from certain clubs nomination fees.
Glen was asked by Steve Kirk were receipts given out for these monies and he said No. Asked Why Not he replied "I forgot the book".
Glen Zordan was frostily thanked for his assistance.

Payment of Nomination Fees
The Following clubs paid their $80 nomination fees : Bronte, Clovelly, Coogee Randwick A and B, Maroubra Seals Red and Blue and Yarra Bay Sailing Club. This only leaves Malabar and Mascot outstanding.

Grand Final Venue Nominations
Stuart Samels on behalf of Bronte asked what where the requirements of a club putting on the Grand Final extravaganza? He was informed that they were to provide a 3 course meal and entertainment for the evening after and of course use of the clubs snooker facilies for the afternoon. Stuart said he would get a pricing for the meal based on 75 attending the function and get back to the committee.

It was decided that this year's Grand Final will be held on Saturday August 10th.

Champions of Champions Day
Since this competition is usually a "Coogee Randwick" event it was a little hard to discuss this important issue due to Sue Phillips being the only Coogee person at the meeting and she had heard nothing about the event. It was decided Steve Kirk would email Sue requesting her to approach the revelant people at her club and see if they wish to hold it this year. At this time Glen Zordan mentioned that as Treasurer last year he noticed that the usual $250 given to The Jock McLean committee by the hosting club of the day (Coogee) did not occur and asked "what happened?" Sue Phillips answered it was simply an oversight of the day but it was too late to fix. Glen advised that even though the event had traditionally been a "Coogee" event, Maroubra Seals where prepared to host the event and sponsor the Jock McLean committee $250 for the passing trade of the day if Coogee Randwick did not wish to hold it.
Awaiting developments

General Business

# Glen Zordan reported that he had yet again found another team to enter into next years competition. He was firmly told we haven't finished this competition yet and with his track record they would be unlikely to be accepted without payment up front.

# Steve Kirk was asked by Glen Zordan why he never had an up-to-date league table available since the 9th round was two days ago. Steve informed Glen he was still waiting on Coogee Randwick B's fax sheet. Glen asked why the rules of the competition not being followed and Coogee penalised points? Steve informed Glen he usually gave a club the benefit of the doubt as sometimes errors occur when sending faxes. Steve also informed Glen it was only a few weeks ago that Maroubra Seals Red had a problem with their fax sheet and they also were given "a let off". Glen was silent.

# Next meeting Wednesday June 12th 2002 at Clovelly 6 pm to discuss Champion or Champion details, Grand final nominations and team payments of $80 per team.
