The meeting was chaired by Greg Fitzjames and opened at 6:08 pm.
President's report
Greg Fitzjames thanked everyone for attending and said all is going well - again.
Minutes from the meeting of June 13th were adopted. Moved E Howden Seconded S Phillips.
Secretary's report
Steve Kirk advised there had been three more seeding errors since the last meeting - Round 14 Maroubra Seals B, Round 16 Maroubra Seals B and Round 18 Mascot. Penalities had been applied.
The make up of the final five is Coogee Randwick B 1st, Coogee Randwick A 2nd, Maroubra Seals A 3rd, Yarra Bay 4th and Bronte 5th - on a countback from Malabar
Treasurer's report
Glen Zordan advised the balance was $535.00 including Mascot's nomination fee.
He also advised that the Champions of Champions day cost the committee $190.00. This is usually offset by a "donation" from the club hosting the day due to the excessive bar sales they get. Eddie Howden advise this year it was out of his control to obtain such a donation as the main committee of Coogee Randwick has decided against doing so. This will be discussed when the hosting club is selected for next years Champions of Champions day
Payment of Nomination Fees
Mascot paid $80. All clubs are now financial.
Final venues
Game 1 Coogee Randwick A v Maroubra Seals A will be played at Malabar.
Game 2 Yarra Bay v Bronte will be played at Coogee Randwick.
Other venues will be decided when results are known.
Grand Final Dinner Tickets
Tickets for the Grand Final Dinner were distributed among the clubs present for pre sale.
General Business
# It was noted that Bruce Hockey of Jimac thropies would need to be informed when his services will be called upon. He was present in the club and advised
# It was decided that the highest break competition would include all final games
# Steve Kirk was thanked once more for his sterling service to the committee. An OBE for him was discussed but the motion failed!
# Glen Zordan said he had a great day at the Champions of Champions and thanked all those involved.
# Steve Kirk advised posters for the Grand Final Dinner will be given out once the finalists are known. Grand Final will start 3PM.
# There will not be another meeting until the AGM 2002 some time in February
