Chili Beef Buns

This is a great recipe for any group get-together

and so easy to make

From Joan's Kitchen

5 strips bacon

2 lb.. ground beef

1 cup chopped onions

1 clove garlic, minced

1 can tomatoes (1 lb. size)

1 jar pimentos, drained and diced

4 oz. size

1 can tomato paste- 6 oz size

1/4 cup water

1/4 cup raisins

1 or 2 jalapeno peppers, minced

1 1/2 tsp. salt

1/2 tsp. ground cumin

1/2 tsp. oregano leaves

1/4 tsp. pepper

1/4 tsp. sugar

18 hamburger buns, split and toasted

Fry bacon in 12� skillet until crisp.

Remove and drain on paper towel.

crumble. Saut� ground beef in 2 tbs.. of

bacon drippings. When meat begins to

change color, add onion and garlic. Saut�

until meat is well browned. Stir in

remaining ingredients and bacon. Bring

to boil; reduce heat. Simmer for 25

minutes. Skim off excess fat. Spoon

over bottoms of toasted buns. Makes 18

servings.
