Spiced Cranberry Tea

From Norma's Kitchen

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
4 cups cold water
4 tea bags
2 cups water
2 cups white or red grape juice
2 cups cranberry juice cocktail
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
1/8 teaspoon cloves
1 lemon sliced
1 orange sliced
In a 4-quart Dutch oven, bring 4 cups water to boiling; remove from heat. Add tea bags. Let steep 3 to 5 minutes
Discard tea bags. Stir in 2 cups water, grape juice, cranberry juice cocktail, sugar and spices. Bring to a boil; reduce heat. Simmer, uncovered 15 minutes. Add lemon and orange slices. Cover and chill 4 hours.
Pour tea through a strainer into serving pitcher or punch bowl before serving. To serve, pour tea over ice cubes. (for special occasions I make three batches of tea pouring some into a ring mold adding wedges of oranges and lemons. I let this freeze. I then place the ring into the punch bowl shortly before serving pouring the tea carefully over the ring. It keeps the drink chilled for some time. It makes a pretty holiday drink.
