I'm Job Salinas. Welcome to my website.
As you can see, this was inspired by Cameron Crowe's film, "Almost Famous"(2000), which was in turn inspired by Crowe's own experiences as a music journalist. The film revolves around a 15-year old prodigy who follows a band toring on their way to superstardom. Along the way, he encounters strange people, new experiences, adventures and - of course - love. The whole movie actually pays homage to the era when rock and roll was a bit more carefree than it is now, as well as to the innocence and naivette of those who see the world with pure, untainted eyes.
So why "Almost Famous"? Actually, I was able to watch it on VHS only last Christmas season. I'm normally not a movie buff, but my bro and sis had nothing but praises for the film. I eventually watched with them, and I was not disappointed. The film had a lot of humorous moments as well as heart-warming ones. I especially loved that scene where the movie's protagonist, Willie Miller, talks to his music critic mentor Lester Bangs and they face up to their reality of being not cool. I could totally relate.
Anyway, this site contains links to Almost Famous related websites, and in the near future, articles I submitted for my Journalism class. Please feel free to check back, I will be updating this site every so often.
Thanks for visiting.
