Crafts, Button Machine, Letter Writing to the Troops, CPR Classes
This year, Lakeview was hopping on Friday and Saturday.  On one hand, rain forced Jobies inside, but on the other hand, new activities were added.  Crafts were extremely popular, as always.  People were seen creating candles, painting suncatchers, decorating cards and scrapbooks, designing bracelets, stamping, coloring, painting, gluing, beading, etc., etc.  The button machine was always busy and easily sold out of buttons and keychains by Saturday afternoon.  Thanks to all the "crafty" adults who helped set-up, lead activities, supplied materials and ideas, and worked with the girls.

This year we set up a station were everyone was invited to write letters to the troops stationed overseas.  Working with
aMillionThanks.org, Jobies and adults wrote and decorated 65 letters and cards to brighten a soldier's day.

Friday afternoon. Sgt. Jim Smith led classes on CPR and First Aid.  Sgt. Smith and his "friend" were a hit, engaging the girls and teaching them something as well.

Taking some time to write letters to the troops.
Practicing CPR/First Aid skills
(as demonstrated by Colleen, Caitlyn and their friend, Tyree)
Step 1: Make sure he's unconscious.
Step 2: Open up his shirt..
Step 3: Begin chest compressions.
Step 4: Squeeze nose shut with fingers, tilt chin back, button shirt.
Step 5: Re-open shirt, do chest compressions, give rescue breath.
Step 6: Re-button shirt.  Pull up socks really high.
Step 7: Solemnly carry down to Dining Room for dinner.
Another job well done.
