| Question: "What About Commitment?" Answer: Reviewing Commitment, Priorities, & Discipleship. When it comes down to life, we acknowledge the fact that it is all about values and priorities. We come to find that we are never committed towards something we do not value and thereby showing its place in priority. Jesus displayed the perfect example of what it meant to have diligence in seeking out the Fathers Will. Father, into Your hands I commit My spirit (Lk. 23:46). Therefore let those who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls to Him in doing good, as to a faithful Creator (1 Pet. 4:19) Peter brought forth the point that we are suppose to deposit our soul to God, thereby gaining interest, as the Lord stated, to have life, and to have it more abundantly. Jn 10:10. To show an interest in my soul, I am to love the Lord my God with all my heart, with all my soul, and with all my mind. Mt. 22:37. I am to prioritize God first in my life, Seek ye the first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto thee. Mt.6:33. So far, how do I measure up? The problem that many are faced with today is a surplus of boredom, which leads to a deficiency in DILIGENCE. Where does it all start to fall apart though? It begins slowly with a negligence in Bible study, which leads to being careless as to how I walk, and becoming unconcerned for the lost. Many lose even the outward appearance of being Christ like. Heb 5:11 " of whom we have much to say, and hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing." We have obese church buildings, but within, anorexic pews. How committed am I to God and His purpose. For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lords Romans 14:8. (NKJV) What will be the legacy I leave behind? An individual COMMITTED TO THINGS or an individual COMMITTED TO THE LORD? May we find ourselves diligently seeking God out every opportunity, seeking to worship Him, (Heb.11:6), happily feeling after Him. (Acts17). What the Lord says at judgment, will be in proportion to our commitment! What is the Lord saying regarding my commitment? Is it I that will give God a number to wait until I am ready.
