There was a William Sheldon, Private in the Berkshire County, Massachusetts, Militia. Whether this was our William is uncertain.
Another report is that William Sheldon was in Williams Co. 5th Mass. Regiment, Col. Rufus Putnam, from 14 March 1777 through 14 March 1780, and applied for his own Pension.
Land transactions involving William and Hannah Sheldon, the last of which is dated 1801, was land sold in Sheffield , Mass., and his residence was given as Rensalaerville, New York.
William died in 1816, however I’m unsure if he at Sheffield or elsewhere. Hannah died in 1810.
