Our primary family lines are Burch and Nickel, Sheldon and Griffin, Saemann and Brazelton. Those families, and more than a dozen other related families, for which we have more or less data, have gotten us to where we are today. From my generation, the lines branch off like this: My mother’s maternal side (in alphabetical order): BURCH, GRIFFIN, NICKEL, and SHELDON. Further back we are: BATES, BIRDWELL, BLOTT, BOLTWOOD, DEWEY (Mass.), EPPERSON, HAWES, KELLOGG, LEWIS, MARTIN, MONTAGUE, NOBLE, PHELPS, PYNCHON, RANDALL, SAXTON, SMITH, TERRY, WARNER, WARRINER, WHITING, WOODFORD, and WYLLYS. My mother’s paternal side (in alphabetical order): BRAZELTON and SAEMANN. Further back we are: BAUMANN, BORDEN, BÜCHLE, CARPER, CRAWFORD, GÄRTNER, GRIMM, KOCH, LEMLEY, LUCAS, PECK, PIDGEON, SHEPHERD, WILSON, and WINTERS. I promise you it’s not all stripped down, bare bones family trees and genealogy charts. I plan to include, in time, a giant photo album comprising my entire archive of photographs; important family letters that are in my possession; documents important to the family; and the family history in prose. I’ll even be exposing a few stories that over the years have turned into myth and legend. Eventually I’ll have set up our own family forum where we can explore and share things relating to our own family, even build on the work I’m doing. For now, be patient, please.
