This is my fourth year teaching first grade. I have wanted to be a teacher as long as I can remember. I attended Hiddenite Elementary, ACHS, and Lenoir Rhyne College. I have my Masters Degree in reading. My mom, Karen, works at East Middle School. She volunteers in my class as much as she can. My dad, Barry, works in the maintainance department for the schools. He pops into my class when he is at Ellendale. I got married to my boyfriend that I have dated for six years on December 8, 2007. His name is Adam and he has graduated from Lenoir Rhyne with his masters degree in business. He works at the Lowes in Mooresville. We attend Fairview Church. One of my favorite past times is keeping up with Nascar. I am known at Ellendale for being a BIG #17-Matt Kenseth fan. I also have lots of Carebears in my class.
I have been a teacher assistant for 30 years. I started when we were at the "old" Ellendale School. I worked in 1st and 2nd grade for 11 years before getting moved to kindergarten where I worked for 15 years. I am starting my 4th year working with Mrs. Hall. I guess I have spent most of my life at Ellendale. I attended Ellendale through the 8th grade, attended ACHS (yes, it was around back then), and I am now going back to college to get my teaching degree. I am married to Dennis and I have two children. Heather is 21 and works at Millersville Child Development Center. She got married on October 27th to Brandon Cox. Seth is 17 and is a senior at ACHS . He plays football and baseball. I attend St. Luke Church and work with the youth there. My past times are: doing schoolwork, attending Seth's games, and spending as much time as I can with my family.
