December Themes
December 1 - December 4
We will start our "Christmas Around the World" unit.  This week we will learn about Sweden and Mexico.  On Friday, we will work on  a famous United States custom - Santa Claus.  We will do Santa math, read Santa stories,  write letters to Santa and make a Santa ornament for our tree.
December 8 - December 11
We will continue "Christmas Around the World" studying Holland and Italy.  On Friday, we will focus on Rudolph.  We will read the story, make an ornament and lots of fun stuff.
December 15
This day we will read the book "How The Grinch Stole Christmas".  We will do several activities on this subject. We will have some grinch math and much more!
December 16
This day, we will be reading the book "The Polar Express".  Most of the activities for this day will be centered around the book.  We will have a PJ day so the children can wear thier pajamas.  We will watch the movie and have hot chocolate in the afternoon.
December 17 - December 19
During these last 2 1/2  days before Christmas break, we will read Christmas books that we did not get to read.  We will especially read "The Year of the Perfect Christmas Tree".  We will design a Christmas tree and write about our tree and we will also decorate a gift bag with a Christmas tree sponge.  We will have our celebration on Friday morning  with the exchanging of presents.
We want to wish all of you a wonderful holiday season.  We love all of your children.  You are very lucky.  Enjoy this time with them.  Before you know it, they will be grown up!
Love,
Mrs. Hall and Mrs. Mull
