joanna's work is influenced by the beauty of nature and the artistry of the past.

She has always gained a immense sense of peace from gathering pebbles, and marveling at the secrets they hold.  After earning her Graduate Gemology degree from GIA she longed for a greater sense of creativity. She studied with Victoria Lansford learning the ancient ways of metalsmithing. Taking classes with Helen Blythe-Hart and Carol Webb rounded her knowledge as well. Then she apprenticed under David Vrooman giving her a more focused view of manipulating metal and appreciating the artist within.   Artisan-extrordinaire Carol Webb, introduced her to the fluidity of glass and encouraged her to take risks;  trust
 her instincts.
