Courses at various levels are available from beginners to Grade 8 levels. The complete music programme for beginners and graded students includes individual piano tuition, theory, aural and recital classes. Fees are charged according to the grade, duration of lesson and type of classes.
GRADED PIANO COURSES
This takes after the syllabus of ABRSM and Trinity College. The basic structure is as follow:
Beginner - Grade 4
45 mins practical lesson inclusive of theory
Grade 5
1 hour practical lesson inclusive of theory
Grade 6 - Grade 8
1 hour practical lesson. Theory classes are conducted separately
Practical lessons till Grade 5 will also cover sight-reading and aural training. For the advanced grades, students are recommended to attend separate lessons for the other subjects. Skip of grade is permissible for diligent and talented students.
RECITAL CLASSES
This is held twice in a year, of which students are required to prepare a piece to perform on the platform. A vital training ground towards exams and concerts. Specific group is organised for different levels and ages.
ENROLMENT
Students may enrol for the piano and theory courses at any time of the year, subject to availability. Upon acceptance, fees are payable in advance at the beginning of each month, subject to the prevailing rate.
