Siamese : Seal- Point The body colour is cream, shading gradually into pale warm fawn on the back. Kittens are paler in colour. The mask, ears, legs, feet and tail are a dense and clearly defined seal brown with no trace of bridling. The mask is complete and (except in kittens) connected by tracing with the ears. |

Siamese: Blue-Point body colouring and blue points. Unfortunately the colour is not always the desired glacial white shading to blue on the flanks. Some tend to be too fawn in body colour and too slate coloured and dark in the points, a fault which should be bred out by selective breeding from cats of the correct colour. The eyes, as in Seal Points, must be oriental in shape and in colour a clear vivid blue. The blue points should all be of matching colour and the ears not a darker shade as sometimes happens. A close coat of finest texture is required. |

Siamese: Chocolate Point from the earlier days of Siamese, they were not officially recognized as a separate variety until 1950. The body colour is ivory and the points milk chocolate. Body shading of present must be to the colour of the points. Great emphasis should be laid on the term ‘milk’ chocolate as opposed to ‘plain’ chocolate in the points colour. Unfortunately there seem to be far more cats of the darker shade than the desired lighter hue. These darker-pointed Chocolates tend to develop heavy body shading as they mature and do not retain the correct ivory colour. |

Siamese: Cream-Point
Cream Points are the latest variety of
Siamese to be granted
recognition. Their pastel colouring is delicate and distinctive. They have been produced by selective breeding from Red Points carrying the blue factor. The body colour is white, shading to pale cream; the ears, mask, legs and feet are cream; the nose leather pink, and the eyes a vivid blue. Barring or striping on the
points is not considered a serious fault
but a hot cream (too red) is most undesirable. Other points colourings now being bred include Tortie/tabby, Seal-Tortie, Blue-Tortie, ChocolateTortie. |

Siamese: Lilac-Point
L ilac-Points were originally
bred in the USA where they known as Frost Points. The first born in England were in a litter of Blue-Points from two Blue -Point parents, both of which carried the necessary chocolate factor to produce these colour points.Lilac-Point have magnolia-coloured bodies which seldom darken with age and the points are pinkish gray. The nose leather is the colour of faded lilac and the eyes a vivid blue. The desired points colour is not easy to attain and many lilacs are far too blue. They can appear in any Siamese litter where both parents carry both Blue and Chocolate genes. When bred Lilac to Lilac they always breed true to colour. |

Siamese: Tabby-Point Lynx Point, this attractive variety was granted recognition in 1966 under the name of Tabby point. It differs from the solid colour Siamese in that striped markings replace the solid points. It should have a pale body colour free from markings. The ears should be solid with no stripes but with a distinct thumb mark. The mask must have clearly defined stripes and the whisker pad should be spotted. The legs have broken stripes with solid markings on the back of the hind legs. The tail must have clearly defined rings and a solid tip. The nose leather may either conform to the recognized standard for its particular colour or be pink. All colours are acceptable in the Tabby Points: seal, blue, chocolate, lilac, red or cream. |

Siamese: Red-Point 1966 after many years of dedicated breeding by Dr Nora Archer and Ann Ray. They are very handsome cats with clear white body colour shading to apricot. The points are bright reddish gold, the eyes a vivid blue and the nose leather pink. Faults are striped tails and tabby markings on the face. |

Siamese: Tortie-Point of the Red Point family. Much of their charm lies in the very varied appearance of their points. It has been said that no two Torties are ever exactly alike in their distribution of point colours. The basic point colours are blue, chocolate of lilac, and red or cream markings in the points are essential. The body colour shouls be as in equibalent solid colour Siamese. Unfortunately some Seal Torties show very heavy body shading, which is undesirable and should be bred out. The type and characteristics should be as for other Siamese. It is also possible to breed Tortie/Tabbie-Point Siamese. Resembling Tabby Points, these cats have patches of red, cream or both irregularly distributed over the tabby pattern of the points. |
