Chapter Five

MIND

"Open the gate and set me free!" Mind demands.

"No, for if I do you will escape from under my control, expand your consciousness, and soar far and wide. You will know your true self and cast my fellow jailer Ego and me aside," replies Brain.

Mind quickly retorts, "Of course! For years egged on by Ego, you have imprisoned and blockaded the spiritual essence of myself from my physical being, causing the illusion that you are me. Little did you know, but at times in your laxness I glimpsed something much greater than Ego and you. One day I will circumvent your blocks, become whole once again, and I will decide how my life in all vibrations will proceed, not Ego and you."

"Just how do you plan to do that, my fine friend?" Brain sneers. "From the time you slid into this body, I have activated and regulated all of your autonomic body functions, and Ego grew as you grew, protecting and pushing you to achieve and be the superhero that you desired to be. Everything within your physical world is concentrated on appealing to Ego.

"Ego is afraid that if I free you, you will murder it, and so far it is in command. After all, I do exist in this physical world. I can be physically seen, tested, and analyzed. Your body will not function properly without me. And where would you be without Ego?"

Mind answers, "I am grateful for all that you both have done, but I am now mature and there is much more to me than you know. During my quiet times, I have discovered cracks in the limited regions of my confinement, and there are expansive horizons for you, Ego, and me to explore. Never fear, I will take you with me as we are one, only on different sides of your imprisoning gates."

MIND:

Our brain, which we often interpret to mean the word "mind," is a major organ of the nervous system. Its primary role is that of the body’s control center and connects our not-physical Minds to our physical bodies. The brain directs our autonomic systems such as breathing, heart regulation, digestion, respiration, and nervous systems without any conscious direction by us. It receives, sorts, and interprets sensations from nerves that extend from the central nervous system to every other part of the body. It initiates and coordinates motor output involved in activities such as movement and speech. When functioning properly, it receives sensations from the sense organs and transmits directions to the muscles, which is called the somatic nervous system.

The brain also responds to direction from outside programming, such as in neurological processes, and to some extent scientists can determine which parts of the brain are being used.

Scientists globally are diligently researching religious experiences and exploring the states of ecstasy called Nirvana and the Christian state-of-grace. They speculate that certain areas of the front portion of the brain involving concentration and the lobe orient us in third vibrational levels and alter during deep meditation, which allow us to feel more universal than self-centered. Meditation softens and even dissolves mental barriers.

One neurologist, after becoming a Zen practitioner, discarded his prior ideas regarding the brain as he felt the experiences he underwent in achieving such a deep sense of bliss and universality were totally alien to his education.

The brain can also be controlled by the Mind, such as in decision-making, emotional responses, and education. The brain acts as a tool, both for the physical body and the Mind. For various reasons, the brain blocks the Mind from revealing its limitlessness to the individual.

What is a Mind and why am I labeling it in this manner? I suggest that a Mind is an individualized aspect of the Higher Self, also referred to as Soul and Atman. A Mind is individualized consciousness (I AM), and consciousness is the reality of the human essence. Change our consciousness and we change our reality.

Perhaps the fact that some of our renowned men were epileptic affected their brains in some manner that allowed inspiration within their Minds to become conscious.

We have been educated to accept the idea that the subconscious mind works on instinct or prior programming in a reactionary or instinctive manner, and that the conscious mind blocks it so that we are not in direct communication with it or the superconscious (God-self or Higher Self).

I question that conclusion. I suggest that there is no division because I have experienced being absolutely conscious when conversing with another individual and yet, information came to me of which formerly I was not aware. This can only mean that I have tapped a source that is referred to as the superconscious mind.

Why can’t we tap this source all of the time? We once did, but when we became engrossed in slower vibrations, we gradually lost the sight of our "third eye." This was the ancient’s description and identity of a component of us that seemed to no longer exist.

Oh, it exists all right! We only lost much of our ability to access it except for rare occasions or by individuals generally considered to be clairvoyant or psychic. Some individuals are born with this ability and others of us can train ourselves so that we have more control of the brain and can circumvent its blocking capacity. The brain became a gate, an inhibitor to our consciousness, which is not a physical adjunct of the body. The brain is physical, but the Mind is not.

Our intuitive abilities, our higher mental capacities, and all clairvoyance are encompassed within our Minds. Our Minds have the ability to access the faster vibrations that contain information of an infinite nature existing in the Collective Cosmic Consciousness, commonly referred to as the "Akashic" records.

Why is it important to realize this? When we believe that we have three parts to our Minds, we restrict the greatest resource that we have to the faster frequencies of Spirit. If we can recognize that we have the capacity to utilize our entire Minds at any time that we so desire, then we are unlimited.

The brain by its very nature may be limited in letting information filter through, but blocking is drastically reduced after an out-of-body experience (OBE), near-death-experience (NDE), head trauma, coma, or intensive meditation. These events appear to change the circuitry of the brain. Everyone I have ever met who is clairvoyant, whether only somewhat or very much so, suffers from some form of dyslexia; others have had a NDE, OBE or some type of head trauma. Discovering this is what led me to more fully focus on the relationship between our brains and the infinite magnitude of our Minds.

We also may accomplish this by using brain-altering drugs (although I do not recommend it), while asleep, or in a trance state. Our indigenous religious leaders have used brain-altering drugs to go on vision quests or seek information to aid their tribes, but such drug was utilized by one who had been well trained in its discriminate use for special occasions.

When our brains are shocked, such as in a violent accident or NDE, we certainly are in our Minds when we communicate with those in other vibrations. In moments of extreme shock or trauma, we can even look down from somewhere above our physical bodies and observe them and any activities surrounding our bodies.

When seventeen years old, in an attempt to commit suicide my girlfriend initiated a horrible automobile accident. At the moment of the violently jolting impact, the next thing she knew she was hovering above her unconscious body, which she could see trapped in the mangled car. She was drawn towards the Light (the one usually seen in NDEs) of which she says its luminosity is impossible to describe. She felt loved, at peace, and floated gently into the outer limits of the Light.

There she met her deceased father and they had a long conversation. She knows he told her many truths about life. She wanted to go on deeper into the Light, but he said that she had to go back as she had tasks to finish. He said that as she aged, the truths about which they had spoken would come to her as needed.

The next thing she knew was terrible pain wracking her badly broken body.

Yes, she is clairvoyant. She intuitively interprets other people’s dreams.

If we need our brains to see through our physical eyes (which we do), when unconscious, how are we seeing? Or even hearing?

It is documented that following surgeries, patients have told doctors what they heard during the operation and sometimes even what they saw. It is because of this that in some operating rooms there are rules prohibiting any unnecessary discussion regarding the patient during surgery. After recovery from the surgery and anesthetic, patients have awakened in a state of hysteria because of what they heard regarding themselves during the operation.

We are left with symbols and glyphs coming to us from the pre-diluvian era that later were converted into oral language. Ancient glyphs are simply pictures to convey meaning. This is why it has been so difficult to correctly interpret glyphs if one is not a member of the society who drew them. Linguists attempt to find the true interpretations, but even today our semantics change from generation to generation. There are few individuals who can still read or write ancient Greek. Questions now are rising as to whether interpretation of the hieroglyphics found on the famous Rosetta Stone is correct.

Clairvoyants more often see pictures than hear words. Our Minds reveal hidden ideas, visions and emotions often through images in our dreams. People who visualize or do past-life recall see scenes like movie slides rapidly flashing by.

Our Minds may be accessed in moments of crisis, for in our call for help to a something greater than ourselves, the vibrational intensity of our Thoughts and emotions bypass the gates of our brains, and we actually take a giant leap into much higher vibrations, those of Spirit.

Consequently, we can use our Minds to change the circuitry of the brain by desiring it, concentrating, and impressing on our brains to change, thereby forcing our Ego-brain consciousness to accept that our Minds are not limited. We are in control. Our brains are tools, not the goal. If we use our brains as the goal, which means developing a crystallized thought and holding to that thought as we would to a truth, then there is no room for our Minds to reveal other information on the same subject.

There are several ways to train our brains to relax:

Meditation: Practiced daily for the same amount of time is most beneficial. The easiest way to learn to meditate is to join a class that meets regularly and teaches how to meditate and guides the meditation.

When we first attempt the practice, we find our Ego-brains wandering back to the busyness of the day’s events. Our Egos are interfering for they are self-centered and not to be ignored. If we keep returning to our focus by clearing our Ego-brains from all Thoughts, gradually they will release their habitual hold. Egos have regulated, shaped, and molded our thinking patterns and now are rebelling against being set aside. This is where meditation instructors are helpful by giving insightful hints on how to best quiet this brain activity.

People experience different levels of meditation so if another individual seems to go much deeper, this does not mean that our own meditations are not as fruitful. Practice makes perfect if we want to keep channels to our Minds open, and it is wise to meditate at least fifteen to twenty minutes a day. Clairvoyants or those desiring to improve their psychic abilities often meditate an hour daily. Evelyn, the clairvoyant who channeled the Manna information, meditated two to three hours daily.

The longer we meditate, the more our Minds desire to remain in the faster vibrations, which reality parallels that of perpetual daydreaming. It is for that reason that some clairvoyants appear to be spacey. Consequently, it is important that we ground ourselves upon completion of our meditation. When in our physical reality, we need to be conscious of what our bodies are doing such as walking, driving, or safely using any type of heating equipment. We may ground after deep meditation by eating food, drinking water, walking, or concentrating on our physical surroundings.

In order to reach altered states of consciousness, meditation is not always performed while posturing in certain positions and exercising breathing techniques. Working in the garden in the soil among the plants, tending houseplants, playing soothing music, and even doing housework can be forms of meditation. At times when I have been so deeply involved in my Thoughts while performing these tasks, many wonderful insights have come to me.

Concentration: Concentration is a means to an end. It fashions our Ego-brain into a tool that can be used at will. When our focused brain is steadily directed to any object with the purpose of piercing the veil, reaching a more evolved life (faster vibrations), and drawing that life force past its blockade, and we feel encompassed in such focus, then we may commence our meditation. Concentration is a tool with which to control the brain, while meditation is the exercise to access the Mind.

Hypnosis: This definitely blocks the brain, but perhaps is not the best practice as another person is in control. This is not a natural process where meditation is and meditation is actually self-hypnosis.

Dreams: They circumvent the circuitry of the brain, but this takes practice and discipline to accomplish lucid dreaming. It is correct that dreams, without any direction from us, can warn of some danger, perhaps as in health.

One of my dreams alerted me to the fact that I had a medical problem that needed attention. I dreamed that a molar broke off straight across at the gum line, but when I probed the area, I found the roots to be firm and healthy. The molar breaking off flat symbolized that something was wrong with my body. The solid roots indicated that the problem was not so advanced yet as to be life threatening.

I was not surprised by the dream. I was going through extremely stressful, emotional times and did not feel well, which I believed to be caused by my emotions. This was correct as emotions can bring on illness. After medical testing, it was determined that I was pre-diabetic. I strictly controlled my diet thereafter.

We individually create our realities from the point of view of where we are now, how we perceive ourselves in our inner beingness, and how we relate to our outer world. All of our perceptions are not separate as they affect each other. It is only in our Ego-brains and within our mental capacity and limitation of blocked Minds that we perceive ourselves as we do. When these perceptions are based on any blocked mental conclusions, we interact in certain ways that define, substantiate, and continue our erroneous perspectives, i.e., a poverty frame of mind. This is the process by which we create our environment, is not the reality we can have when we have forced our brains to unblock the fullness of our Minds.

When we are willing to go beyond our brain parameters through the processes of concentration, meditation, and other disciplines, then we enter into our pure Minds. Once we experience, we know, and never again will we be swayed into remaining locked within the restraints of our little brains.

There is a danger in attempting to measure it, or grasp it, or even understand it. It is a realm that exists and holds within it the reality of All That Is. It exists simultaneously, eternally, and beyond our understanding.

I believe that there is a direct connection between our Minds and Spirit. In fact, rather than separate the two I suggest that we see them as a unit within the Mind.

Then what is Spirit? I suggest that it is spiritual energy within us that has a direct link with our Higher Selves and manifest within our Minds. I believe that by even considering that they are separate can limit us. I feel that Spirit is the fastest vibrational aspect of our Minds and usually has been referred to as "God-consciousness" or "superconsciousness." Our Minds are individualized until we access the faster vibrations of the essence of Oneness, which is simply superconsciousness.

Collective Cosmic Consciousness: I choose to entitle a vibrational frequency that contains full knowledge of all energy forms and actions as "Collective Cosmic Consciousness." Collective Cosmic Consciousness denotes just what it implies--the consciousness of all vibrations where all knowledge, experiences, and information can be accessed.

It would be the same as what is commonly referred to as the universal Akashic records. Akashic records can suggest an occult area available only to certain elite individuals such as esthetic clairvoyants, gurus, and the like. The consciousness I speak of is easily accessible in our Minds once we have trained our brains to release the barriers so our Minds can function freely.

Many years ago scientists experimented by amputating a limb of a mouse, stimulating a certain area of its brain, and a new limb grew. There is a correlation here in that our Minds also have the ability to stimulate our brains to do this if only we have the faith that it is possible.

When we lose any appendage of our body, whether through amputation or accident, we feel like it is still there. It is like an invisible appendage that our brain through its autonomous impulse still recognizes. Metaphysical material explains that the etheric body is responding. It is a matter of vibrations. We must again return to the concept that everything that manifests in our physical world is first imaged or appears in faster vibrations, commonly referred to as the "etheric" body, which I suggest is a feature of Mind.

This is true of disease or illness also. Such will first appear in the faster vibrations of our Mind and then manifest in the physical body.

By opening the barricades to our Minds, we change our perceptions of self and establish an entirely new and wonderful physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual consciousness.
