Opening Act - Brother Love's Choir singing their version of Stand Up for America

(click on all images to enlarge)

Far, we’ve been traveling far
We’ve left our homes, by plane and bus and car.
Feel, it’s how he makes us feel,
We only want, to go see our Neil.

To the coast, across the plains,
We love to tour America.
Canada and Europe too,
Then right back to America.

Home, is where we prefer to stay,
Right here in the USA,
It’s where we were born,
It’s where we were born.

Home, is wherever we see his face,
And wherever we can embrace,
Neil’s voice singing warm,
Neil’s voice singing warm.

Of the places in the world,
There’s no place like America.
Love to see that flag unfurled
We’re proud of our America.

Thanks for helping ease our cares
When terror struck America.
When they caught us unaware,
Neil helped to heal America.

Stand up for America Stand up for America,
Stand up for America, Stand up for America
Hooray! Hooray! Hooray! Hooray!

(Neil sings) My country ‘tis of thee
(we sing) Hooray!
Sweet land of liberty (hooray)
Of thee I sing (hooray) Of thee I sing. (hooray,
hooray, hooray, hooray)

Dancing

College students from Northern Illinois University were having a party in the room next door.  They were attracted to singing and dancing in our room and one by one, they drifted in and joined in.  Scott played Dancing To the Party Next Door. It was PERFECT!!!!  Here they are.

The college kids stayed for the traditional train dance to I'm Alive.  The train was invited into their party room to thunderous applause.

Scott Neal, the party emcee and deejay, became a father on January 5 to Alexandria Marie.  He read the Top Ten Reasons That Your Father Has Seen Too Many Concerts which he wrote during the many hours he spent at the hospital waiting for Alexandria to arrive.

10. Our household has now received official designation as “Nealville”.
9. Each time Alexandria receives a warm blanket from the oven she sings “so good, so good, so good”.
8. For Dad’s amusement, Mom makes a red-sequined headband for Alexandria to wear home from the hospital.
7. Upon receiving first bath, Alexandria strikes pose to cue final note of “America”.
6. Dad contemplates options for generating additional revenue to cover medical deductible by selling merchandise featuring Alexandria T-Shirts, mugs, calendars, jackets, hats and pins (Note: hospital does not receive 25% of sales).
5. After birth, Alexandria utters, “that was ALMOST PERFECT! But we need to do it one more time. And my way goes like this…” (Mom vetoes idea).
4. The initial discussion of names involves this stipulation from wife: “No Rosie, Caroline, Desiree, Holly, Melinda, Sue, Louise, Cherry, Leslie, Utah Woman, or, for that matter, Sister Love.” However, she did fail to mention “Juliet, Laura or Carmelita.”
3. Dad immediately refers to his wristband to enter the nursery as his “All Access Pass with Escort Privileges,” displaying this credential to anyone who will pay attention.
2. When Alexandria cries or Mom needs something, Dad tells nurses, “They are the squeaky door, and I am the lubrication. I go to wherever the noise is”.

And the #1 sign that your father has seen too many concerts:

1. Stipulates that the only men qualified to escort Alexandria when she dates horny boys as a teenager are Tom Gorlewski and Don Bath.

The party room was decorated with posters and a big sign with individual letters that said Stand Up for America, all of which were affixed to the walls with masking tape.  As the evening went on, various posters and letters in the sign began to fall off the walls.  When we assembled for the group picture, we didn't realize that all that was left of the Stand Up for America sign was ND UP ME and that someone (?) had moved the letters.

When Kathy Shue ran across the room to get the Neil "standup" for the picture, she spotted it, we all roared and took it down. We didn't send that one to Neil!
