History of Pilot Club of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee
    The Pilot Club of Lawrenceburg was organized by the Pilot Club of Nashville and chartered by Pilot International on July 25, 1955.  There were 44 charter members.  We have one charter member who is still active, who is Anna Gladish.  We also have two Emeritus charter members, Beulah Harwell and Woody Helton.  Anna Gladish's sister, Martha Gladish was the first President of the Pilot Club of Lawrenceburg and the Tennessee District Governor 1959 -1960.  Two other Lawrenceburg Club members were District Governors, Ruby O'Rear 1968 -1969 and Loucile Putman 1975 - 1976.  There are currently 18 active members.

     The Pilot Club of Lawrenceburg organized the Pilot Club of Lewisburg, Tennessee in 1977, and the Pilot Club of Hohenwald, Tennessee in 1989.  The Anchor Club of Lawrence County High School was chartered in 1969.

     Currently, the Pilot Club is very busy with the Brain Minder's Project.  We presented the program to over 1200 children during the last year.  We support many community groups, such as the Alzheimer' s Support Group and The Women's Shelter.  We have applied for and received two Pilot International Foundation grants.  These grants went to the Public Library, three nursing homes in Lawrenceburg, and batting helmets for the 8 -10 year old girls' softball league.

     Our major fundraiser is the "Pilot Club Community Birthday and Anniversary Calendar."  This calendar has been printed and became part of hundreds of Lawrence County households for 32 consecutive years.  Our newest fundraisers include a Karaoke Contest and a Spring Recession Fashion Show.
