Amber Tamblyn's real life father, Russ Tamblyn, is scheduled to appear on an upcoming
episode of
Joan Of Arcadia. Russ' role is listed as 'Hippie Dog Walker God'. The episode
titled
"Night Without Stars" is set to air February 20 during Sweeps. Episode Summary:

   
"Joan's newest mission from God is to work with kids so she bolunteers to help
babysit children of abused mothers. She becomes jealous when Adam falls for another
volunteer."

Actress In A Drama Series but lost to
Six Feet Under's Francis Conroy. Despite the loss

Good news for fans of Joan & Adam. TV Guide has reported that Christopher Marquette,
the actor who plays Adam Rove on the show has been promoted to series regular. (Attentive
viewers may have noticed his name listed as 'Special Guest Star' on last week's episode).

Joan of Arcadia will not be seen Friday March 19th or 26th  while CBS airs March Madness!
NCAA College Basketball Tournament. It is scheduled to return again with a new episode that
will feature another appearance by Amber's father, Russ Tamblyn, on April 2nd.

Tamblyn Joins Sisterhood

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Amber Tamblyn has signed on to star in the movie
version of Ann Brashares New York Times Best Seller "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants".
The story centers around four teenage girls who promise to keep in touch over their first
summer spent apart by circulating a 'magical' pair of pants that fits each of them perfectly and
invariably ties them together. No other roles have been announced yet.Ken Kwapis is set to
direct the script adapted for the screen by Delia Ephron. Warner Bros. Pictures will produce the
film.

Sisterhood Casting

As this site has previously reported Amber Tamblyn will star in the upcoming Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants movie adaptation of the best selling teen book. It has been confirmed that Amber will play the role of Tibby. She's been spotted at a few recent hollywood events sporting her blue streaks in her hair for the role and will wear a fake nose-ring in the movie. The rest of the cast has been announced as follows:  Alexis Bledel (Gilmore Girls) as Lena, America Ferrera (Real Women Have Curves) as Carmen, newcomer Blake Lively as Bridget and Jenna Boyd (Dickie Roberts:Former Child Star) as Bailey. Nancy Travis (Becker) and Bradley Whitford (The West Wing) also star.The movie is currently in production and will be filmed on location in Greece, Mexico and Vancouver, British Columbia.

Amber Gets Emmy Nod

The Nominations for the 56th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards were annouced in Los Angeles today and Joan Of Arcadia actress Amber Tamblyn has been nominated  for Best Actress in a Drama Series. The Emmy Awards will air Sunday September 19th on ABC.
