Welcome to my wicked ass site. Fine, maybe it's not that good, but you see, it's my first real site - so I have an excuse.  My name is Jo and this site is mainly about DEGUS. And a few other stuffs. Don't trust me though, not everything here may be true, it's hard to verify information from the net. And plus the fact that I bullshit all the time doesn't help much. This site is kind of dedicated to my very adorable Degus - Jacob and Jeremiah. Yep, I love the little guys. So hopefullie this crappie site will  help at least one person (other then me). But, from all the way in CANADA, take a look and ENJOY.

Octodon Degus - A Southern American mammal about three times the size of a gerbil. These caviomorphs are adorable and intelligent creatures. Degus are originally from central Chile, inhabiting rocky terrain (The Andes) and found in altitudes up to 3500 meters. The Octodon genus consists of three species, Degus being one of them - the most numerous and popular of the three. Degus are wonderful pets and companions to have. They love interaction of all kinds, just, uh, not any bad interaction. Degus are very vocalized animals, they make a variety of noises to express their moods and feelings. They can shed their tails when pulled or caught on something, and are very social animals. Degus can get along with chinchillas, guinea pigs, and rabbits when properly introduced. So if you're interested in Degus, take a look at the links above for more specific information.
UpDaTe: February 5th, 2003.

I have adopted a new degu recently, unfortunately my first degu, Darius, passed away for some unknown reason. My new pup is Jacob, and so far Jeremiah and Jacob have not been acquainted yet. The time will come later when Jacob is closer to full size but not quite, and also when he becomes used to me. So far he is a darling, and not very shy at all. But really, when are degus shy after the first few days?

Cheers,

jo!
