Little Women a biography? The answer is Yes!

Maybe you don't know but the book Little Women written by Louisa May Alcott is in some part a biography of her and her three sister ( Anna Alcott, Elisabeth Alcott, May Alcott and Louisa May Alcott.)

Louisa May Alcott aka Josephine March

Like Jo March, Louisa was a tomboy " no boy could be my friend until I had beaten him in a race" she claimed.
Louisa May Alcott was born in Germantown, Pennsylviana on November 29, 1832.  In her life the biggest passion of Louisa was writting. Her family, like in the book Little Women, was really poor.  She was so troubled by that, one day ( when she was 15 ) she wrote " I will do something by and by.  Don't care what, teach, act, sew or write , anything to help my family.  And I'll be rich, famous and happy before I die" .  Louisa published more than 30 books and stories.  Louisa May Alcott died on March 6, 1888.  She accomplished want she wanted to do : help out her family, wrote book and be famous.

Anna Alcott Pratt aka Meg March

Elisabeth also called Beth like in Little Women, was the angel of Ourchard House.  Louisa called her "my better-self".  Beth like nothing better than to stay at home with her family. She love children, animals ( specially kitties ), playing the piano and sewing.  Her father called he "his little tranquility", she was timid but she liked to help other. Like in the book Little Women Beth caught the scarlet fever from a poor family.  Like in the book, she recovered, but she died two years later of a wasting illness.  Elisabeth was like Louisa's best friends, Louisa was really sad when her sister  died because she loose two person : a sweet sister and a best friend.

Elisabeth Alcott aka Beth March

Anna Alcott Pratt was born in Germantown, Pennsylvianna on March 16, 1931. Like Meg, Anna was a dutiful daugther, a good student, the self-sacrificing governess and eventually the model wife and mother. The description of Meg and John wedding in Little Women is the same description of Anna and John wedding.  Anna and John were married in the parlor of Orchard House on May 23, 1860.  John died a few years later leaving Anna and her two sons: Frederick and John.  Louisa will help a lot Anna after this sad evenment.

May Alcott Nieriker aka Amy March

May Alcott Nieriker the youngest of four sister was born in Concord Massachussets on July 26, 1940. Like Amy in Little Women May had blue eyes and beautiful blond hair.  Louisa say that her sister was caring love, she was beautiful and really elegant.  She dreamed to go in Europe  and her dream will come true because of the sucess of Little Women so she had the opportunity to go to Europe. May had talents for drawing and painting.  In November 1879, May gave birth to a daugther, she called her Louisa May .  She tragically died six weeks after. May requested that the chil will be send to Concord because she know that Louisa will taked care of him, like if it was her children.
