// goals for 2006.create_artwork

o I'm overflowing with decorating ideas. Unfortunately, I'm not likewise overflowing with money with which to execute them. But, I'm fairly skilled when it comes to building shelves and small decorating apparatuses. Now, though, I need wall art.

o Brian will take care of part of this. He was quite an accomplished photographer in high school and he wants to try to pick it up again, so I've commissioned him to do a couple series of photographs for some of our rooms, the stairway, etc.

o For the others, though, I would like to paint, sew, create mosaics, etc, etc, etc--anything that will creatively cover the walls and still look remotely professional (at least on part with something I can buy at Target or Pier 1).

o By December 31, 2006, I will have created a series of artwork to compliment the chair I reupholstered as well as companion pieces to my Don Quixote print for the living room.

Update: Not so much has happened with this goal, but some of the prerequisites have been since accomplished. We painted our dining room and have moved good ole Don in there along with his matching statue. As soon as we get that room together, we'll paint the bedroom that will house the couch and I will begin putting together decorative ideas for the room itself--pillows and pictures and such. Brian's recent photography endeavors have been extremely promising and fairly abundant, such that I won't feel bad dissecting and reassembling some of his work in more artistic formats (collages, paintings, etc). In other words, I'm making excuses for my laziness.
