- I planned this weekend in Hillsboro to get away from B, but we were doing pretty well by the end of the week so he ended up coming with me (he can never pass up a good chance to hang with my dad). Saturday night we met Noe and Matt at their place and headed out to Blackthorn's because I had never been there before and that was apparently a sin. So we went and we waiting three hours for two pizzas and trust me when I say I would have gladly waited another five, it was that good. The place was an amazing little hole-in-the-wall that is, from what I hear, packed every night (and rightfully so).
Anyway, it was filled with great conversation with Matt and Noe followed by an awesomely stupid movie back at their place. The only downfall of the entire thing was that I got it in my head that I was paying for beer the entire night, so I ended up tossing down $52.00. Noe covered the pizzas, though, so that was fine with me. Awesome trip ^^.

- I've been tossing around whether I'm allowed to count this or not, and I've decided that it's valid. Matt actually came to visit me this weekend! *gasp* He and Sarah decided to spend part of their spring break up with me and Brian, though coincidentally it was also the same weekend my parents chose to visit. I can't decide if this was better or worse than having them on separate weekends--but it hardly matters because it was awesome.
I think part of me just loves playing hostess, which I was able to do to an especially great degree Friday night when I cooked dinner for all six of us. We managed to get Matt over to Nickel City arcade, though Gameworks was out (Brian was incredibly sick, and seeing as it's an over-21 venue, I couldn't leave Sarah alone while Matt and I went). We also got to hit Ikea, the mall, Mitsuwa and the downtown area for a bit. On Sunday, just to wind down before they headed out, Matt, Eric, Brian and I played Guillotine, an awesome card game. All in all, very good weekend (and that's without even talking about the parts with my parents, which are always the best).

- In light of the problems Brian and I have been having, I decided to skip off to Hillsboro for a weekend alone with whomever I could gather (and I would be lying if I denied my hopes that Brent would come along as he has recently revealed he wouldn't mind being my friend again). I also had a random desire to get drunk (again I reference relationship problems) and thought, who better to do it with than my newly 21-ified brother?
Saturday ended up being just me, Matt, Sarah and Noe, and no less the awesome for it (maybe the better for it, actually). We watched movies and just generally hung out while Matt got blasted out of his mind and I eased myself into a good night-long buzz. The highlights of it for me, though, were the nearly two-hour conversation I was able to have with Sarah, each of us airing our feelings about boyfriends, old and current, and the nearly hour-long conversation I was able to have alone with a very open Matt (I like him drunk--I rarely get to hear his feelings, and I even managed to get a comforting hug out of him). On Sunday Matt, Sarah and I went up to Springfield and did some minor shopping. Minor... I spent $50 on books and $30 on clothes I don't need. But we had lunch at Panera and generally hung out while wandering around random stores. Amazing way to end a weekend.
I really do wish I'd focused more on St. Louis area jobs. I miss Matt more than Brian can ever be worth, and it's looking more and more like he's going to get a job at the Air Force Base doing techie programming stuff for about $45,000 a year (for the first two or three years; then it jumps to somewhere around $65,000... I'm jealous as all hell--but amazingly proud ^^;). My fears of him slipping away are becoming realized (though, still, a four-hour drive isn't nearly as bad as it could be).

- Brian and I went to Hillsboro primarily because we hadn't been there since Christmas weekend and we were feeling the lack. We wanted to spend Saturday afternoon and evening with Matthew and Sarah, but she already had plans with one of her friends. Matt, however, decided to meet us in Benld (halfway between Hillsboro and Edwardsville) for lunch after we went cat-hunting. Well, it took us the better part of the afternoon just to find a place that was open and ended up at a trucker's diner that neither of us had been to since I was six or so. The three of us had a good, long conversation and I was generally able to catch up on his life, which was awesome.
Later that night, after he went back home and waited for Sarah, they drove into Hillsboro and met us at the Country Club for dinner. It was great--the Youngless family together (along with Brian and Sah, but they fit right in with us pretty well)--it was definitely worth the weekend, despite the fact that they had to leave again that night.
