Special Interests Music:
For the last 20 years, I've persisted in learning music. I've studied classical guitar, violin, piano, music theory and composition. After becoming legally blind, I left the world of instrumental sheet music behind. I now concentrate on vocal performance. Voice and violin are still my two favorite instruments. Five years of voice lessons are paying off with the development of a good tenor voice. My goal is to sing in churches and to sing in oratorio performances.
Teaching my daughter over these last four years has put me back in touch with my love of teaching. I love teaching the sciences, math, and statistics. Twenty-five years ago, I almost studied for a teaching degree in biology, but chose psychology instead. Well, years later, I now find myself still loving teaching. If I learn enough about vocal performance and voice production, I hope to be able to teach others to sing.

My Passion:

My passion is learning new things. I spent most of my childhood deprived of the opportunity to learn. As a nonreader with a learning disability, books and doing well in school were totally outside of my reach. Don't be fooled. Young people who cannot do well in school, sit day in and day out with a heart ache yearning to learn what other children are learning.
So, now I want to learn so much. I often feel a day not spent in reading or studying something, is a day lost. I love hearing stories of adult who when greatly challenged rise to the challenge and changed their lives by studying and learning. |
